Default What were your favorite professor moments from the series?

What were your favorite professor moments from the series?

There were many, many moments where the Professors’ of Hogwarts were featured both in the books and movies. Whether it be a prominent moment or a small moment, which happened to be your favourite? Was it Hermione setting Snape’s cloak afire? Lupin’s lesson on Boggarts? Dumbledore taking Harry on Side-Along Apparation for the first time? McGonagall telling Peeves the chandelier ‘unscrews the other way’?

Tell us and let’s have a fun discussion about why the moments you chose will always stick with you!

My favorite moment with Professor's had to have been Professor McGonagall teaching the Gryffindors to learn how to dance and using Ron as her example partner. The uncomfortableness Ron felt, how much everyone else was clearly enjoying his discomfort (I like to imagine McGonagall was enjoying it as well because sass master) the whole thing was just beautiful. One of the scenes I remember most getting a belly laugh while watching the series!

Movie wise!! I love when McGonagall said Voldemort names for the first time in the final movie to Flickwick!!!

"He's going to try to kill you either way" --- What an excellent moment!!

Book wise: Any time McGonagall had to deal with Umbridge and her remarks to her!

Definitely agree with the moments mentioned so far! The dancing lessons in the movies is such a funny and memorable scene And I love the interactions between Umbridge and the other professors, but especially McGonagall, in both the book and movie. In particular, the scene in the book when Umbridge is being chased from the school, and McGonagall indicates she would help if Peeves hadn't taken her walking stick

I also enjoy just about any scene with Gilderoy Lockhart. His arrogance and obvious incompetence and the other characters' reactions to him are just so fun to read about/watch.

One interesting moment I remember from the movies is Umbridge inspecting Snape's lesson. A perfect dialogue that clearly shows both characters' personalities - the acting was amazing too - ending with Ron being whacked on the head, as always. xD

Quote:
Dolores Umbridge: You applied first for the Defense Against the Dark Arts post, is that correct?
Severus Snape: Yes.
Dolores Umbridge: But you were unsuccessful?
Severus Snape: [annoyed] Obviously...
[Ron snickers, Snape whacks him on the head with a book]

curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog

Literally the entire performance from Kenneth Branaugh as Gilderoy Lockhart. He had every aspect of that character down pat! Especially when he got hit with the memory spell at the end that was meant for Ron In the books you obviously understood that he was a liar who got to be famous by stealing the stories of other people, but Kenneth added the charm necessary to show how he got AWAY with all of that up until this point.
