Videos: Daniel Radcliffe talks Harry Potter, "The F Word", with new on-set footage

Daniel Radcliffe chatted from the set of The F Word recently with ET Canada and Access Hollywood, where he discussed the huge difference in worlds between that of his romantic comedy and the Harry Potter series, and explained the story behind the movie. New behind-the-scenes clips from The F Word with Zoe Kazan, where it is shown that his character Wallace is indeed English despite it being filmed in Toronto, Canada, can be seen below.

ET Canada: You’re doing this romantic comedy. Is that a refreshing change for you?
Dan Radcliffe:
Yeah, definitely. It really is. This is the first time I’ve done something contemporary. Potter was contemporary, but it was in such a heightened world that you can barely count it. It’s nice to be in normal clothes and actually saying words that I might say. I play a guy called Wallace who meets this girl, Chantry, played by Zoe Kazan. He meets her at a party; there’s an instant connection. They make each other laugh a lot, and then she reveals that she has a boyfriend. The scene we’re shooting today is one in which I am being given advice by my best friend.

ET: Is it good advice?
Dan:
No, he’s giving me terrible advice. (Speaking as Wallace) So you’re advice is be sleazy, conniving or pathetic.

ET: What kind of advice have you received in your life and what kind advice have you give in regard to relationships?
Dan:
I definitely have been very much that person in a lot of my friend’s lives … I am the person that they come to talk to about stuff. For whatever reason – christ knows why.

ET: Do you like that role or do you shy away from it?
Dan:
Yeah, actually I do like that role. It’s quite nice concentrating on other people’s problems. I’m very good at giving advice that I don’t follow myself. That’s the kind of advice I’m good at giving.

Dan Radcliffe: I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of people out there who still want to see me as Harry, or can’t help but see me as Harry. The F Word, in the case of our film, is ‘friends.’ This is a romantic comedy. It’s going to be a lot easier than explaining Equus to [fans] was. The F Word is definitely a step in the right direction.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Dan in this movie. Has its release date been scheduled yet?

I think it's quite interesting how Dan has got into a romantic comedy.
