Videos: Daniel Radcliffe interview at 2012 Met Ball; extended The Trevor Project PSA
The Trevor Project today released a minute-long public service announcement featuring Daniel Radcliffe for its organisation, and the Harry Potter actor urged supporters to help those troubled LGBTQ teens considering self-harm or worse. That can be viewed here. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SFGOssnBADo?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Daniel Radcliffe: When you feel like you're different or no one understands you, it's not always easy to ask for help. But no matter what you're dealing with - confusion about your sexual orientation or gender, sadness or thoughts of suicide - you don't have to do it alone. I'm Daniel Radcliffe and I believe that reaching out for help is the bravest thing a person can do.
If you are struggling and need support, call The Trevor Lifeline at 1.866.488.7386. It's free, confidential and trained counselors are there 24/7 to listen without judgment. To learn more about The Trevor Project's lifesaving work for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning young people, go to TheTrevorProject.org. Remember, you are never alone. You don't need to keep thoughts of suicide to yourself. There is help to be had and there is nothing wrong with asking for it.
Dan also did a short interview at Tuesday's Met Ball in New York City, briefly commenting on his take on the huge fashion event, and a particular American football player in attendance he'd love to get the chance to meet - and if the photo below was any indication, Dan may have gotten his wish. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MQPF_5xN-0s?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
