Video: Rupert Grint's Cherrybomb official trailer

The first official trailer for Rupert Grint's Cherrybomb has been released by Generator Entertainment and can be viewed below. This is the approved version, sent by them to us.

Please note: There is quite a bit of strong content throughout the trailer (drugs, drinking, violence, smoking & partial nudity) so watch with caution.

What happen to the last thread?

I've watched this trailer a few times over the pass three days and I must say it is great far beyond the fact that Rupert Grint is in it. This just looks like a fantastic film in general.

I know a lot of people may critique its violence and sexual activity but from interview and reviews online, all of that seems to be done tastefully (if still excruciatingly). I'm sure most of us know the premise to the film. Two young teens fighting over this one girl. That alone on the surface may seem like a pretty generic storyline but I think the way they are going about it is fantastic! And is it just me or does the cinematography on this film just look completely amazing!?

Now on to Rupert Grint. I am so glad he is doing this. The first film I saw him in besides Harry Potter was Driving Lessons. In that film he certainly isn't playing Ron Weasley but what he's doing in this film is drastically different and is going to be the role that will break his Ron Weasley impression entirely. For him, this is his Equus.

Very great teaser of a trailer. We don't get much in terms of story and what's happening but in an odd way it's very appealing and teasing. Most teasers don't tell much about story. Can't wait until it gets overseas so all us American silly patties can see it!

Looks good, trailer looks more like a tv spot tho, needs more dialogue.

We got rid of it because it turned out the trailer hadn't been approved yet. The content of this one is slightly different - there's less nudity, no swearing and the music is different.

that looks really cool, :) but based on that trailer, it's difficult to tell what its about.

Oh shoot! It is a different trailer! I liked the music in the first one better.

Oh yeah ... I see the shots are a bit different. [Highlight below - Trailer Spoiler]

There were a few other quick shots that look new but generally it's all there. I think the major thing that was cut was the part where you could see the edge of her breast and Kimberly Nixon and Rupert Grint are in bed together.

Ivana 04-07-2009 04:34 PM

How funny is the fact that the official trailer is practically the same as the unofficial one (minus a few action shots)?! :D Still it's great!!!

dracosmine** 04-07-2009 04:56 PM

Whoa a whole different side of grint. That is no Ron Weasley. LOVE IT!! Cant wait to see it

StunningDelaila 04-07-2009 05:16 PM

I totally wont support this film even if Grint will get an oscar for it (Im not a fan of drinking, drugs and violence)

I can't wait to see this! Why Rupert, you're all grown up!

alyssa_hilary 04-07-2009 07:00 PM

I simply NEED to see this film.

griffin_girl 04-07-2009 07:18 PM

that looked so cool. I'm wonder was that a different accent Rupert had on in the very last part?

It is; Rupert sports a Northern Irish accent throughout the film.

POTTER128 04-07-2009 08:18 PM

that movie looks interesting is it coming out in the US

hpnaiv 04-07-2009 08:35 PM

So basically all I have to say is:
Rupert is hot.

:)

Padfoot7 04-07-2009 08:50 PM

Someone said this is like Rupert's Equus. I agree, but for Dan's Equus, it was harder for so many of his fans to see because first it was a play in New York (and London) and second, the whole story line isn't really something every parent would let their kid go see.
But this does look like a fantastic film!

r+h4ever1 04-07-2009 08:54 PM

Impressive

I actually really liked the trailer. It's intriguing since I'm not used to seeing dialogue-less trailers for films. I really hope I get to see this in theatres. It was hard enough trying to see Driving Lessons.

I loved the last thing you said. That is exactly right. This is going to be so different. I do think it's a risk for him. It's not only mature in rating, but the content is intense and dangerous. I'm thrilled mostly for Rupes because it looks like he'll get to hit all corners of his acting ability. We've seen his chops both comedic and dramatic in HP and DL. But I think Cherrybomb is going to test him as an actor in the public eye, not just HP fans. This has violence, sex, drugs, danger, and risk involved. For me, I'm not a big fan of violence, sex, and drugs in a film, particularly with younger actors. The world is full of it without it being portrayed. I don't know if I'll like it when I see it. But the content presented seems like it's going to really open something up for Rupes, and because of that, I'm looking forward to it.

I'm nervous for him, but I'm excited because he's such a phenomenal and very underrated actor. I hope, for his sake, he breaks out with this film to pave his own way. As much as I love Daniel, Rupert is 100 times more talented, so I hope people get to see this. As Ron needs to come out of Harry's shadows, I think Rupert deserves to have his own praise without Dan Radcliffe comparisons. From watching the trailer, particularly the last image with his face cut up!!!, I think we're going to get to see what Rupert Grint can do!

Final note: Is it me, or did Rupert get even HOTTER?! He used to say how he didn't want to be a romantic lead. But I think it'll suit him just fine! One word: Yum.

Shannon :hello:

From the looks of this trailer this movie looks like it's so awesome. I hoe this movie reaches regular theatres in the US cause I for one would really love to see it.

I COMPLETELY understand what you mean. I'm a huge Rupert fan, but I think it'll be a bittersweet experience for me. I think he'll do a good job, and I hope he'll get acknowledgment as the great actor he is. But I'm not too keen on the content. There's already too much sex, drugs, drinking in films today. But...Hopefully, this kind of activity is shown in a negative light so that it's not in anyway attractive to viewers. It's one thing to go away from Potter, but he'll still be a role model (willingly or unwillingly) for his career.

I'll also remind others about Dan's appearance in Equus; the content was just as parental guidance suggested as Cherrybomb. While there is sure to be a sex scene as shown in the trailer, Dan had a full-frontal nude scene and simulated the act on stage every night. Not exactly family friendly, himself.
