Momentum Pictures, an Alliance Films company, are proud to announce that the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of THE WOMAN IN BLACK will be released in UK cinemas on 10 February 2012.

Based on the classic ghost story, THE WOMAN IN BLACK tells the tale of Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House.

Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town's tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been dying under mysterious circumstances. When those closest to him become threatened by the vengeful woman in black, Kipps must find a way to break the cycle of terror.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK also stars Ciaran Hinds (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) and Janet McTeer (TUMBLEWEEDS), was adapted from Susan Hill's novel for the screen by Jane Goldman and directed by James Watkins (EDEN LAKE).

I hope it will be released in the U.S. Usually movies like this are released in limited theaters. Maybe Dan's popularity will change that. :sunny:

affy7ann 04-10-2011 03:13 PM

I'm not much for horror films, but the story of this sounds interesting and the talented Dan is in it, so I'd like to see it! :)

Little Trooper 04-10-2011 07:14 PM

Oh my it looks so awsome. I do hope it comes out in the states. I think this will help Dan to become the great actor he wants to be. I loved the book so the movie will be awsome.
As to why they moved the date i think its so Dan can do the promostions for it and not interfer with H2$ in y opinion.

Looneybird 04-10-2011 07:14 PM

For the most part, I think scary movies these days are beyond silly because their plots are simply terrible and they have horrible actresses, like Paris Hilton , in the role. Plus, it's always the idiotic rule-breaking teenagers that end up in some haunted mansion etc. However, I'm glad this doesn't look at all like those crappy movies which makes me extremely excited to see it! ^_^ I know Dan's very picky about quality so he wouldn't just jump on for those teen horror films. The fact that it involves someone in a different time era and situation makes it look really good. And goodness Dan completely different with all that make-up. :gasp: Harry who?

Cassiopia Malfoy 04-10-2011 07:21 PM

That's FREAKY! Hahaha, I don't do well with freaky, but it looks good

iwantorlando05 04-10-2011 07:51 PM

It looks awesome! It sucks that we have to wait until 2012 to see it though.

I'm not a big fan of scary movies, but I like ones like this. It looks like more of a psychological thriller. :D

Higgins 04-10-2011 07:52 PM
