Video: A new behind-the-scenes look at Harry & Ginny's Half-Blood Prince kiss
 

Yahoo! released a behind-the-scenes look at Harry and Ginny's kiss from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Several takes of Daniel Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright performing the intimate kiss in the Room of Requirement are shown, as well as shots of the pair hanging around the set with David Yates and various crew members. Dan, Bonnie, and Emma Watson weigh in on the kiss, as well; Dan and Bonnie discuss the initial awkwardness of having to perform it in front of a group of people, as well as with someone they had known for years; Emma joked in regards to the cast not teasing Dan and Bonnie about the kiss.

Why did they have Bonnie's first scene be the kiss?
o_O No offense to her or anything, but I just felt the kiss was so awkward...
It was still sweet, but awkward. I'm looking forward to the DH kiss :)

Well, I think that was because it's the most difficult scene to do, so she better had that first. :'D

I quite understand that it had to be the very first scene that Bonnie had to do! Right now I feel sorry for Dan to deal with this not once but going on three times, once with Katie(OOTP), this film with Bonnie, and again with Bonnie in the first part of the next film! Good luck on that!

I didn't really like that kiss too be honest - I agree with everyone that it was too awkward. I think that if they had actually kissed in that moment in the burrow (the "Happy Christmas Harry" bit before the Burrow was attacked), it would have been a lot less awkward... I just didn't really understand why they had to put that in at the moment Harry had used Sectumsempra... it didn't really fit.

regardless, I agree it was very sweet.

It really is awkward to kiss someone whom you have known ever since and mind them their awkwardness does shown in the film!haha!

i thought it was a sweet kiss, perfect. What i loved about that clip though, was Dan and Bonnie's big scene, theres a workman, setting up his ladders, people moving about, really sets the mood; ). Also i bet Emma wanted slack cutting on that kiss, knowing her big moment is coming up!

Well, I feel for Dan and especially Bonnie. Honestly, watching the video really makes me feel the atmosphere of nervousness Dan and Bonnie had to experience, with the lighting crew, camera men and Yates giving them direction all at the same time they are trying to kiss. It would be extremely weird to have to kiss your friend, having known them since you were ten! If it were me, I'd have ended up crying from the nervousness or simply fainted lol. Bonnie handled it nicely...too bad it was the first scene shot but at least they got it over with.

However, the kiss was awkward and not exactly what I had anticipated...wouldn't it have been easier to just kiss someone with all the energy of the room, a spur of the moment type of thing like the book, instead of having this slow build up with the tension mounting, making you even more nervous (like prolonging something that you could have done without thinking)?

i did not like the kiss very much...a little painful to watch....looking forward to the Ron and Hermione kiss....as she tosses basilisk teeth aside to kiss him...lol

I don't really like this scene..

I'm hoping that the DH kiss would be better than this one. I liked it but...it just wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.

It was kind of awkward... when you kiss, expecially for them, I think it would have been a little less awkward had they made some contact with their hands or something. You know what I mean? Like if Bonnie had... I don't know... held his hand at the very least. And Dan's kiss with Katie, in OotP was also very... awkward since it was only their lips that made contact.

I thought the Harry/Cho kiss in OOTP was much better, in HBP it was just a peck on the lips for 1 second and I presume that if to people have feelings for each other the first kiss will be longer than 'just a peck'

But it's just my opinion....

I felt robbed. Sorry but I did because this kiss is to be way better than Cho's kiss and all we get is some peck of the lips... Still bitter and I hate that they are now hyping the kiss for DH. PUHLEASE, I wish they would stop short changing the Ginny character as well as Ron's character. They deserve respect!
