Tom Felton to star in Planet of the Apes prequel, Rise of the Apes
 

In addition to Daniel Radcliffe's recent new role, his Harry Potter costar Tom Felton is set to star in the Planet of the Apes prequel, Rise of the Apes. One of the reps at Twentieth Century Fox just updated their official Twitter with the following:

A summary of Rise of the Apes is as follows:

The film is set to be released June 24, 2011.

Cool, now will be be a main character or only be in the film for less than five minutes?

I really respect Tom Felton. He's doing a good job of putting himself out there and being in lots of different films. None besides HP have really been huge (at least in the U.S.), but he definitely has his name out there. I think he could go on to be very successful in the business.

I can't believe that they're bringing back the Planet of the Ape via prequel. Oh man.

Oh no, Tom, no, no, no, no, NO! :no::no::no::no: If any movie did NOT warrant a seque/prequel/anyquel, it's that overbudgeted, overhyped pile of steaming pet poop. Only good thing about that film was the fact that Tim Roth turned down the role of Snape to star in it, and we got Alan as the bonus prize!

Awesome!! That's 3 roles for Tom and he's just been signed to a record label. So far all the HP actors are doing a great job of setting up their career after Potter. :D

I have seen the originals and about time they remade them! Other than the eight HP films and several children's ones that Tom did star in, IT"S ABOUT TIME he starred in an adult film like this one.

i thought the remake(ish) was ok, i've seen the original that had Charlton Heston in it and although i couldnt remember anything coherent about it (too young when i saw it) it felt like the Mark Wahlberg version had more going on.


it wasnt a prequel, it was a remake. this one that will have Tom in it is a prequel, to which version (the Heston one or the Wahlberg one) remains to be seen.

So cool! I look forward to seeing it! I'm not likely to see some of his others (only 'cause they aren't movie styles I would generally watch), but this is right up my alley!

It's going to be so wierd to see the Harry Potter characters do something other than harry potter....I think I will always think of him Draco Malfoy lol
