The man who threw away a first edition Potter

The Telegraph has an amusing article in which the writer, Nigel Reynolds, recalls the memory of being the first journalist to ever interview J.K.Rowling.

^ Oh I just love JK's humour!

Thanks for that! What an awesome article. The lesson here is always get books signed by the author when you meet them :)

LOL i love Jo! *giggles* bet the kid regrets that now lol

wow..

Hahaha! Thats hilarious! JK is so funny, I love this article.  :rotfl: :rotfl:

I love it! JK is so nice :)

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

LOL, very funny

lol hahaha

OMG! I remember Goosebumps. aaaaaaw, it was so long ago xD

I used to have every single Goosebumps book. A whole collection. Same for The BabySitter's Club. Though those were in my pre-Potter days.

Me too, I had heaps of BSC books!! :) I also read the Goosebumps books and any Fear Street books I could get my hands on

Thats cute. Wonder what the kid would say now?

Same here! I had the whole set of both series! I could knock down 5 BSC books in about 3 hours!^_^

lol

lol that is WAY funny... poor kid! if only he knew how big Harry Potter would get...

*cheers*

Yeah I think he will:lmao:

oh! what a lovely little boy! Well...at least he is honest...JKR HAS A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR! goosebumps sucks for me by the way...

:hello: lol thats funny :wizard:

lol JK is so cool. lol Yeah goosebumps is no comparison to Harry Potter in my opinion.

lmao, very gd!

She's so darn funny!

hahahahah!! that would be so embarrasing.. JK was good about it though.
she's a real legend

 Wonder what he'd say now..

lol what a legend!

I don't know if I'd ever get over throwing it away if I was him...

Lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That is absolutely halarious!

lol... What is Goobeldinges actually??

haha. thats funny. at least jo didnt get upset with him. i remember reading the BSC. i read almost every one of them.

That's funny and cute; JK Rowling is so funny in so many different ways.

lol go JKR...that's funneh

LOL very goofy thing to do!!!

lol..funny!

lol! omg i love that! for real! if i was the writer i'd be kinda mad but i'd laugh at the same time.

goosebumps is cool though

lol thats funny........

thats sorta really funny!! I bet the journalist really regrets it now.

I have a friend who lives in Oxford...her mother threw away her first edition Harry Potter, because she didn't know what it was...

lol lol lol thats funny :sorcerer:

OH! How cute is that!!!!

lol that is sooo funny got to love Jo for her humor! really! Man that kid must reget what he said now.

wow thats pretty funny

Lol That's quiet funny and interesting.

haha...i wonder if tom (his son) regrets saying that now! i bet not 'cos look what he got for it!

why would you throw away something like that?

that was nice it was funny.

That is funny..

haha..i bet hes kicking his rear for throwing away the book..
now that its worth 15K!! haha..
Jo is just the coolest!! haha..

"Thanks for liking it and I don't mind about Goosebumps. Honest."

haha!!

Wow!!
I wish I'd met her :chrleadr:

lol. That's funny! I would give anything to have a first edition PS! That would be awesome! But I'm not rich enough, and if people are greedy enough to sell theirs, then they're not true HP fans! If I had a first edition, I wouldn't sell it for all the money in the world! No way!

I dont have the whole collection but they were my favorites

haha...she's so nice

so cute,,,,
the boy said goosebumps was his no 1
bet he likes Potter now, but he'd be quite old now17-18 probably

That is a fantastic little story. I just love Jo's sense of humour.

That seems cool. Its good for kids to like different stuff instead of just one thing.
