Snogging a part of Lavender Brown auditions

In a new interview with MTV David Yates has said he will make Rupert Grint snog the top 5 potential "Lavenders" as a part of the audition process.

Quote:

"You know what I'm going to do?" Yates said. "I never did this before, but I'm going to get Rupert together with the top five Lavenders, get him to come and read with them and snog with them. It's a chemical thing, and you want to feel that chemistry between them. That will help me decide."

"Really?" Grint asked — since this was news to him. "Oh, wow, I didn't realize that. That's going to be interesting. It's going to be embarrassing."

In regards to screen kisses, Rupert said;

"It is a bit clinical and they do so many takes," Grint said. "I'm not really looking forward to it."

The article also mentions that Yates has already seen actresses for the part of Lavender Brown, but as with the casting of Cho Chang and Luna Lovegood, they want to throw the process open to the public.

Yates also explains that Christian Coulson, who played Tom Riddle in Chamber of Secrets, has now, at the age of 29, outgrown the role.

The open casting for Lavender is on July 1st, with the auditions for Tom on July 8th. More details can be found here!

ohh mann! I would audition for lavendar just to get to the top 5! But I feel bad for Rupert because I'm not going to be one of them ;)

(Chuckle) When Rodenberry was filming Plato’s Stepchildren they spent a full day filming the kiss, half the time Shatner and Nickels, half Shatner and Barrette. Then they were going to decide which to put in the final print, but every time he leaned over to kiss Barrette he made faces and she broke up, so the only good shots were with Nickels. And that’s the way it was.
