Well, first off I have to say that I agree with you completely, especially concerning close-minded fans, but you also have to understand, there is a bit of fun to the whole “Harry Potter vs. Twilight” debate. I’m not going to lie; I love to jokingly debate with my friends and tease them about it. The whole debate is just part of being a fan. I do understand that some people get carried away with this whole, “I hate Twilight” and end up out for blood but once again, it’s just a handful of people. You have to admit, you get a good laugh once in awhile from all the Twilight vs. Harry Potter media coverage. However, I would never say negative things about others just because they like Twilight or use hateful language towards them.
On a side note: It seemed like the member you were replying to was only making a simple joke. I’d have teased you guys about it too but I would never mean anything negative by it or seem ungrateful for the SS contests. So I assume that a lot of people don’t mean their comments to sound as bad as they do but I do agree that they should follow the rules, obviously. Oh, I've got no problem at all with a fun or healthy debate, but going by mere precedence when it comes to Twilight and the members here, we know it's going to get malicious - and not towards just Twilight or each other, but the site and staff as well - hence the warning. If the staff thought that all the members would play fair, then we'd have no issue, but the past has taught us that it simply doesn't work that way (and in all honesty, the comments in this thread don't compare to those we've received on Twitter, sigh).
I know, but I guess I just used it as a venting point, of sorts, lmao, and definitely not towards them. Just wanted to make a point, etc. Again, you'd be surprised at some of the comments we've received, though mostly through Twitter. You can't always win, oh well.

Wow, I did not expect this, giving Twilight merchandise away on a Harry Potter fansite. xD Well, I think it's about Robert Pattinson, teehee, since he was Cedric Diggory in HP4. He will always be Cedric for me. ^^
To be very honest, I dislike Twilight very much, but good luck to the US members who will enter.

I totally agree with you. I'm not sure what started the war, but I'm pretty sure the media had something to do with it. Personally, I'm a fan of both, which is why I entered the giveaway, but I'm a pretty casual fan of Twilight. It's entertainment for me.
The series are nothing alike, except that they're both fantasy, although on opposite sides of the spectrum in that aspect as well.
And I agree-it is rude to be mean. You are doing people a favor by having a giveaway and even if someone isn't a fan of the series, so what? the mods here are being kind enough to offer this so just be grateful or keep quiet, you know?  | |

Ok, so we all know how much better Harry Potter is to the Twilight books and films. But, I'm actually embarrased that so many SS members have left rude posts about Twilight. I thought we had a good community who were kind and polite. I feel sorry for the Mods that have put lots of time and effort in bringing you all a competition where many members have turned their noses up at it. If they have nothing good to say about the saga then don't say anything.
I'd pick Harry Potter over Twilight any day of the week, but they still and enjoyable books and I don't think they deserve the criticism that some people have given.

xx you are right.. twilight saga is indeed a good entertainment but as i mentioned before, many started disliking it after its comparison with hp. anyone would choose harry potter above twilight without any second thought.. many members could not resist and posted rude comments on twilight.. even i got mine deleted for same reason.. but if they stop trying to surpass hp then we'll surely start liking it again..

Yes, I did quite like this movie. The Twilight movies really aren't that bad. Anyway, I totally agree with everyone that's been saying that Twilight and Harry Potter are two different series, because, well, they are! They are totally different and shouldn't be compared based on how many fans they have and which is better, but if i was forced to choose, it would, hands, heels, and other random body parts down, for me be Harry Potter lol. I hold a rather strong soft spot in my heart for it that no other book series would be able to replace or help fill, no matter how popular another fandom is  I'm just crazily geeky like that haha, but it doesn't matter because I'm sure no one even read this. lol | |

It doesn't personally offend me, but in this argument, I'm team Switzerland! I just feel that the Moderaters are the ones who will be offended. They put so much time, effort and, money trying to bring us these competitions which will be stopped if this is the way they are being treated. There also was a warning about messages getting deleted if the were in anyway rude.
