Slughorn party guest actor interview

Last week we told you about an actor, Dean Mitchell, who is playing a guest at Slughorn's party in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; and today our partner site BlogHogwarts tracked him down and has sent us an interview. Unfortunately he was reluctant to give out too many details regarding who his character will be - however, he did provide a new photo of himself in costume.

Dean Mitchell: Yes, I am a big fan of the Harry Potter books but when it comes down to books and movies I tend to do it in reverse order to most people. When a film gets released after a book you can often find that the reader of the book is dissapointed with the film. But I find that if I have seen a movie I enjoyed, then I will turn to the book in order to get more out of the story. But as an exception to my own rule I have to say that if anyone is interested in Time Travel, you have to read The Truth Machine by James L Harperin... No movie as yet.

BH: Have you already shot scenes of Half-Blood Prince?
DM: My involvement with Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was shot in England during the earlier part of this year before I relocated to Los Angeles, California.

BH: How do you feel about being in a Harry Potter film?
DM: I'm extremely grateful to have appeared in a Harry Potter film and to be a small part of the Harry Potter legacy. We have a lot to thank J.K Rowling for and I feel truly blessed, honoured and lucky to have been in some of the best production around today.

BH: Have you met other actors or actresses on Harry Potter set?
DM: Indeed, yes I've worked with them on the set and met others outside of the film industry in other locations.

Ooooh, is he that vampire dude in the party?
Awesome! Can't wait for the film *sigh*

Interesting as said above. I'm going to check that book out. Can't beat a bit of time travel. I think in the movie Harry will meet him and have a horrible moment because this guy looks alot like Sirius in the movies what with the hair and moustache. Flashback moment? I think so.

He seems like a really nice guy, I'm glad he got to be apart of the film!

Hm... Maybe he plays the vampire? *scratches chin*

I wonder who he plays? Ugh, we need more HBP info!!!

They have already cast the actor who plays Sanguini the vampire. He was mentioned on Snitchseeker, quoted below:

Also, actor Charlie Bennison has apparently been cast as Sanguini, the vampire who had been invited as a guest to Professor Slughorn's Christmas party in the sixth book.

Photos of Charlie can also be seen in our galleries: so go look at the dude! he looks vampirish.

I really do think this guy could have a short appearance. I don't think he is the vampire. I do think he looks like Sirius played by Gary Oldman so I think Harry will have a horrible shock when he meets this guy at Slughorn's party. To make him really miss sirius you know?

I think he's probably one of those characters who are at Slughorn's party and is just randomly there.
Than again, he reminds me of Mundungus, sort of?
He has the untidy hair and robes, he sort of seems like Mundungus?

That photo's a little odd but it's great to have as much HBP news as possible!

He does look like Sirius doesn't he? I think a flashback scene would be interesting.
