Rupert Grint to star in biopic "The Drummer", Tom Felton to star in "Attachment"
 

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Rupert Grint's next project will be the biopic "The Drummer", in which he will portray Stan Shapiro, "the wide-eyed William Morris mailroom intern who became a close friend and confidante" to titular character Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys (portrayed by Aaron Eckhart). Rupert will costar alongside Chloe Moretz (Hugo) and Vera Farmiga (Up In the Air).

The film will begin shooting June 15th on location in California and Savannah, Georgia. This will be Rupert's first film shot in the United States, and first American role. Director Randall Miller had this to say on casting Rupert for the role, according to Hollywood.com:

UPDATE: Rupert's reps have confirmed to SnitchSeeker that he is indeed set to star in the movie, and that it was announced today as he had "literally just been signed" to the project.

Rupert's former Harry Potter costar Tom Felton is rather busy himself, where he has been announced to costar with Sharon Stone in the thriller "Attachment", as confirmed by ComingSoon.net, where:

The film is planned to shoot in the next couple of months. No word yet on how this will work with Tom's current schedule, where he will shoot Therese Raquin at the end of March, and possibly star in Fangs of War this June. We will have much more on these projects as they are announced.

OMG! My boyfriend was Dennis Wilson's percussion partner in the 70's and early 80's - this is so exciting! Wonder if there is a way to get to sneak on set! Shoot.

Whoever is saying Harry Potter actors are now nobody is wrong. Chloe Moretx and Sharon Stone! they're both very well known, so their movie can't be a little one!

Contratulations on both Ruper and Tom. They are showing everyone that they can move on from Harry Potter and be successful. That goes for Matthew Lewis too!

First of all-WE GET RUPERT IN THE US :) about time!! First Emma, now Rupert :) I cant wait for Emmas Bling Ring and now Ruperts new one!!! :) same as Toms woah he is busy!! They all are though which goes to show HP was not the end for any of them, but in some ways a beginning into young adult acting :)

I was thinking that, too. And Dan starts shooting his next film in New York on Monday. And Evanna is in L.A., and Tom as well (albeit leaving at the end of the month for a few weeks or so). So pretty much the gang's all here!
