Runa Ali, 15, who had already completed the first stage of the audition process, had a second audition in Bradford at the weekend. Runa had to take a personal item to talk about in a presentation to the panel of judges. She took the novel "Brick Lane", by Bengali author Monica Ali, and argued the right to free speech. She also took part in role-play exercises with the other aspiring actors. Eighteen girls from the region took part in the audition. Runa will find out if she is successful at the end of the month. Runa applied to audition for a part in the new movie when Lynne Blackburn, head of ethnic minority achievement at the school, circulated an e-mail from the film-makers asking for volunteers. Runa was the only person from the school to come forward. |
which part are you talking about??????? the padma and parvati part???????? |

What part did they audition for thatis the question  |
Well I saw a picture of her on a different site and she looks like she would play padma or pavarti. But i thought they wanted two sisters for those parts??? Maybe its a different role but if it is for padma and pavarti then maybe she will play both roles, like, film both roles and combine them. Im not sure. here is where you can find the picture of her : Godrics Hollow Thanks to godrics-hollow.net for that pic  |
*claps at a deafining level* I looked at the picture and saw that Runa was a muslim. Go Girl! I hope you get in. There needs to be more diversity in the film industry. |
i hope she gets in, at least as an extra |

They asked for sisters at first but, i think they will take two people that look alike. But i imagine that two sisters would be better off than one girl. |
Good luck to Runa! We'll be rootin' for ya! |
shes very pretty I hope she gets whatever part she was trying out for. |
Good luck to you, Runa and ,of course, the rest of the people who went for the audition!  |
Hehe... she is a Muslim. Notice the name and scarf?? AHAH! This proves... that I might have a chance to get a part as Cho too for I am a Muslim as well.. Rock on Runa!! Rock on!! Although I do imagine the twins would be fairer than that... I'm not that fair too, am I?? |
arista_wood, indians by race aren't fair so it doesnt matter whether ur fair or not............. she would probably have 2 take off the scarf during filming if she plays parvati or padma as they are hindu girls (atleast that's what their name suggests) |
I bet that she is really going crazy while waiting for the news of whether she has the part or not. |

Mind you, that wouldn't stop me!![/b][/quote] You Go Girl. if my parents prevented it I'd Still Go For it. my parents would not want me to audition, they'd say i need to focuse on school. I'll prove them Wrong. I can Multi-Task. :read: :star: |
I repeat what I say: They should come to India |
Good for her! but didn't they already have people for the parvati and padma roles? You can tell which one's they were from the movies, and from the books I don't think they wore head scarves. Since McGonagall got mad that Parvati had that butterfly clip in her hair... or maybe I'm wrong, I'm not Muslim, so I shouldn't talk. |
cool, but I don't think it is for the Patils roles.... those are already taken it was in Mugglenet like a month ago, the names of the two girs I mean I don't know who would she be auditioning for..... |
Why am I writing in a QUOTE thing? Anyway... Thay already have the parts assained! |
