I'm just pleased its a harry potter actor thats been nominated for the role of Twilight. He's on parallel lines on how imagined Edward, facial structure, body, hair, defo not eyebrows... buuut. There's make up! I'm sure they'll make him look dazzling enough for us, plus he's a good actor! Edward's role isn't easy either, so I have confidence that he'll be able to pull it off... Can't wait for behind the scenes photos!

I was very shocked when I found out Robert was playing Edward. I had never considered him playing the role.
I know he would be good Edward, although he's not Edward in my head.

Okay. Yeah. I really can't believe that Robert got the role as Edward. I mean, he's great and all. And as much as I love him, he's just not the one for the role. I mean, he'll do great. But, when someone says "Robert Pattison", I'll think of Cedric. To me, he'll always be Cedric. Never will I picture Edward. In my mind, Edward has like perfect features. And I thought he had blond hair. Anyway, just... not Edward. Robert and Edward are just two different people. I don't like it! *bangs the table* Okay. I'm calm.
I just... I think that whoever chose Robert for the role as Edward, just didn't pick right.

yeah, I thought Emily Browning would've made an excellent Bella as well.
However, I still think that Nicholas Hoult should've been cast as Edward.

I do think that Kristen will do a fine job though...

1. I haven't even read the series, so it's not that big a deal for me.
2. But, on boards and such, I heard Gaspard was the most popular option for the role of Edward Cullen.
3. Rob Pattinson? Even though I have no idea what the charrie Edward looks like, for me, it was completely out of the blue that Rob got the part. But anyways, I wish him the best of luck with the role.

*Le Gasp!* Robert Pattison?! You mean Cedric?! Never!! I am actually hyperventialting, I had to go and check on Stephanie Meyers official website before it sunk in. I would have preffered Tom Sturridge really...I think. But like some others have said he IS a vampire, therefore not a human so technically it's pretty impossible to find someone perfect for the part. My friend and I were just expecting some unknown actor to jump out and be conviently stunnly geourgeously woderfully totally and ablolutely beautiful. Oh well I love twilight & Harry Potter (obvoiusly) so anything vaugely related makes me happy Ooh and I'm getting eclipse for christmas!!

Oh gosh. I'm so so so so so so so soooooooooo happy with this casting. He was my Edward... ages ago! But, I put the notion aside because of his accent. EEEEk.

okay. i really wasn't too enthused to learn that edward was being played by this guy. i was actually very upset. honestly, i thought i was mad when i learned who edward was, but when i saw edward, i considered not even going to see this movie when it comes out. of course, i will, but i won't be very happy about the casting. I'm sure that kristen is a good actor, and i know that robert is, but the looks just don't match. but everyones image of the characters is different, so i suppose i shouldn't be too upset becuase i KNEW they wouldn't pick the right person, but honestly therte were MUCH better looking people out there. i guess i just can't keep complaining because it wasn't up to me and i'm just gouing to have to be happy with what i get. As a fan i'm dissappointed, but i'll just have to deal.

I'm in the middle with this one. I see both sides of everyone's opinions. Me and a friend (who will probably post here later when I tell her about it) discussed Rob as a potential edward. I agree with you that say he's not perfect enough, but then, who is?

Yeah, there are better looking actors out there, but no one actor is going to fill everybody's definition of Edward. Rob can act, that's definitely the most important thing to think about. I think his features will work. He IS a human playing a vampire. So remember...movie magic!

And for those people who don't think any part of Rob is good for this role-his looks OR his acting-I feel for you. I know how much it sucks when you are abosolutely in love with something and the outcome is in someone else's hands. I hope the casting will not prevent you from seeing the movie. You could always pretend you are looking at other people on the screen, I suppose.

And I think Kristen will do Bella very well. I just saw her in 'in a land of women' and out of nowhere i thought of bella. And then two days later I came online and went to Stephenie's website and saw she'd been cast. So I'm happy with that decision.

Now there's just fretting over Jacob and Alice! Oh and Carlisle!

yeah, we did discuss him, and I'm happy with this choice. Don't get me wrong, he isn't perfect, but as you said, no one is... it's a human playing a vampire... but i happen to adore his bone structure, and his boyish good looks and charm... i think he is great for the role.

I'm so excited to see how this all comes together...and dang am i nervous about all the rest of them...

and yes, i like kristen for the role of Bella as well... please no one shoot my head off!!

I like Kristen Stewart as Bella, even though she doesn't look EXACTLY like i envisioned Bella, she sort of looks like her & she IS an amazing actress (have you seen her in Speak? or Panic Room?)

& Robert Pattinson as Edward- IDK, I'm not happy about it, but it could have been nice. He seems like an OK actor, but he doesn't look like a perfect Edward, which is what everyone was hoping. & Yeha I LOVE Gaspard Uliell (SP?) he is AMAZING! I would have liked him as Edward, he was GREAT in Hannibal Rising

but back to Robert

He could pass as a nice Edward, he has a nice jawline, but i wish his eyes were nicer & his hair needs a little more style & here's the thing that bugs me the most---HE NEEDS HIS EYEBROWS PLUCKED!

I love Robert, but I'm not sure if he's the right Edward. I think I was expecting something different. Maybe a little more... I don't know, but it's still a good eleccion becuase Robert is such an excelent actor and he's just hot!!!

i'm not sure if stephanie meyer reads everyones comments but please don't make a mistake on this one. I know people wanna make money quick but please think about it first...I'm sure this guy is a great actor but never Edward...common that's not ow he's written in the book, l love Edward and i love ur work..PLEASE THINK BEFORE U DO THIS

I know how stories are always better to read than to watch on a movie..but u cant do that to the twilight series (its too good).

I LOVE the Twilight Series, and when I first found out Rob Pattinson was playing Edward Cullen, I must say that I was a little disappointed, but then I realised that he will probably do a great job, and that I think some people, like me, were or are unhappy he's playing Edward because everyone has a different mental image of him, and that it'd probably be really pressureful (lol) to play a really hot guy who was perfect looking ... I'm not saying that he ain't hot, lol he is hot ... and when he played Cedric in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I was not crazy about him, but nevertheless i thought he was pretty hot ... but yeah i hope you all understand what i'm trying to say
