Robbie Coltrane's Incredible Britain - A new TV program

Robbie Coltrane, the man who plays Hagrid in the Harry Potter series, is going to work on a new TV show, called Robbie Coltrane's Incredible Britain. He basically travels the country, revealing what it's all about and the traditions in it.

One of his scheduled stops is actually Frogmoor in High Wycombe, where he will watch the town's new mayor, Cllr Val Razzaq, get "weighed-in."The outgoing mayor, Cllr Darren Hayday, will also be weighed. Old tradition, no?

The tradition dates back to 1678 and was to ensure officials didn't gain weight at the expense of the public purse. The programme is currently in production and Robbie's road journey will see him travel between London and Glasgow, stopping at various areas along the way. The show is being produced by IWC Media.

John Clark, 67, town clerk of Wycombe's Charter Trustees, said:

Somewhere between the waves of chavs and run down concrete jungles, there is a country worth remembering. Good on Robbie for doing this. I really hope he manages to promote Englands historical beauty well, and doesn\'t promote the idiotic image of today.
