While promoting their upcoming feature, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, earlier today, actors Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were asked if there was any rivalry between them and the Harry Potter cast.

SHE better say that! Taylor is cool but Kristen is just a yucky person!

i used to be anti-twilight but now I dont have a problem with them, it all started when I was talking about how Twilight is getting huge and how everyone likes it and then my mom said "why are you so insecure about Harry Potter?" I was like "what do you mean?" and she said "well when someone compares one thing thats theirs to another its because they are insecure about it".... after that I had no problem with Twilight and its success, I also realized that the only problem I had with it was that I just kept hearing everyone talk about Twilight and every time I turned around everyone had a Twilight book and that was the only thing I was upset about because I got to experience the big success that Twilight was/is form the beginning instead of me loving Harry Potter towards the end. I didnt get to experience everyone talking about it, or everyone reading a HP when I randomly turned around. I got to experience the success of HP towards the end instead of the beginning like I did with Twilight, so that was the only thing I didnt like. I dont know if i explained myself good, either way my little jealousy of Twilight was a little silly :P

but I dont have any problem with Kristen, specially now that she played Joan Jett in THE RUNAWAYS ♥ :D

well personally i like harry potter better, but i read the twilight books first. and if you ask me the harry potter movies are about fifty billion times better then the twilight movies, but dont yell at me people that is just my opinion

I can't speak for the books, but as for the movies, I agree with you completely...I felt I lost about a billion brain cells...

I'm really glad that they are mutual with the Potter cast.
In my opinion, Harry Potter will always be better than Twilight, but I still love the Twilight Saga...Nothing negative about it, but HP is and always will be better.

Was never interested in Twilight...but that was very nice what the TW cast said. HP is the best IMO but seeing as I have never read/seen TW, I cant compare and wont. To me the best couple/ship is Ron/Hermione and the best chemistry is Rupert/Emma :) (as is obvious from my icon ;)).

They speak the truth, if it was for Cedric Rob would not be as famous as he is, as it was him in GoF that landed him Edward.

And I do not understand all the hate people have for Kristen, yes she whinge a bit, but just because her life was been completely changed by the craziness that is Twilight Fandom, she no longer has any privacy and if you look at magazines every single one has something about her, rob or Robsten. I think she has a bit of an excuse to be a angst sometimes..... also i am saying this cause she's sexy :P

The whole Twilight vs Harry Potter thing all started because of MTV and here they go again trying to get both fandoms go at eachother.

I'm honestly surprised with their answers especially that they read the books, they should go to the DH premiers to show their support :P

i really like Kristen. I remember her from Zatura. so cute. I think she's really pretty, but kind of boyish. though I'm not a fan of Twilight. I think it's a boring movie. I just have to see jamie bower and dakota fanning if I do watch the dvd of it.
I'm a big big HP fan and a big big Bonnie Wright fan but I think Kristen Stewart is prettier than any of the HP stars. sorry, guys.

aren't they both from Warner Bros? though HP is the biggest franchise of WB.

and i do agree, being jealous and insecure of Twilight is really silly. i mean, is there something to be feeling about that between the two? they have different type of story so comparing them is not appropriate. HP is a adventures, heroic, suspense, and everything. On the other hand as what I can see, Twilight is a 95% love story. And I'm not much into all romance movies. But I Like The Idea of H/G R/Hr to complete the story :)

I don't really know if they're speaking truthfully--by that I meant if they were true to themselves. Never read the Twilight books, seen a movie, got a vague idea 'bout the books, but I must admit that at times I wanted to kill squealing fans who don't cease to talk non-stop about the "hot" Twilight characters. Lol.

Again, I just hope they're talking from their mind though, and if they really do, then they just gained a little percentage of respect from...me. ;)

That is pretty good that they are fans of the books. There are probably people in the Harry Potter cast which like Twilight since it's big and popular, but nothing like Harry Potter's popularity.

I am not fond of Kristen...if she were my daughter, i would have had her in therapy...but her comments were nice. Taylor is AWESOME .... :)

they should meet... i would like to see that... the mtv movie awards are this sunday, and i read something about emma maybe going and of course all the twilight actors will be there, because their new movie comes out this month and they are nominated...

I've read Twilight and I've had the misfortune of seeing the movies :lol: But I am glad that both Stewart and Lautner had good things to say about HP and the cast. And I would hope the HP cast would return the favor.

I don't think there is any comparison to made between Twilight and HP just because both series of books are popular.

I would have to say that the Twilight series has it place in my heart in the guilty pleasure section. While Harry Potter can take it's place in the great literary masterpiece section.

As for the movies... there's not competition. Harry Potter definitely wins.

how can people honestly say they "hate" an actor or actress? YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW THEM! Honestly, the only kind of comparison that can be made is because they are both long standing and wildly popular sagas.

I'm glad they have nice things to say about other actors, it's nice to see some respect and decency in the world.

Interesting. i think i believe taylor more than the girl. when twilight first came out, kristen said in an interview that she had never read harry potter and she proceeded to make a stupid joke about hp. so i dont believe her. and why do they keep saying "them?" do they not know the trio's names? anyways, i wish the media would stop trying to create a rivalry between the two casts because there is none. everyone knows harry potter is the better everything. no contest. :)

I don't know why but Kirsten always made me think that she was a bit obnoxious....though she's a good actress. I like twilight, I read all the books...but I think that there's nothing that can match up to HP...I mean yeah Edward is gorgeous and their love is epic, but that's that, there's no other story line or something besides Edward and Bella happening....aw, well, I guess all I'm trying to say is that Twilight will never replace Harry Potter. And Rob...if it wasn't for Harry Potter he probably wouldn't have the role of Edward either so of course he's thankfull and he likes them!!! Duh!
