Pottermore's Insider blog updated on their progress on letting the first million people into J.K. Rowling's official Harry Potter interactive site, as part of the Magical Quill challenge. More on that, as well as a preview shot of the Great Hall with Professor Dumbledore presiding, below.

We’re now four days into the Pottermore Beta and we wanted to update you on how things are going.

At the start of this week, we sent out Welcome emails to a small number of Beta users. These people have been busy exploring the site, leaving comments to tell us when they like something, and making suggestions when they find something they would like us to improve. In just four days we’ve learned an awful lot and, as a result, have started making changes to improve the Pottermore experience.

We know that a lot of people are eager to receive their Welcome emails and that it’s difficult to wait but, as we mentioned in our earlier blog post, we’re staggering entry to Pottermore and to start with we’re only letting a small number of people onto the site.

While we can’t tell you exactly when you’ll receive your Welcome email, we will update this blog post to let you know whenever a new batch of Welcome emails has been sent out, so keep visiting the Insider and watching our Twitter feed.

You’ll be pleased to know that we've sent another group of Welcome emails out in the last hour.

I think it's almost MORE torturous to have the Insider say when new emails are sent out! :lol: Because I know others get their emails, but not me. Still, I do appreciate hearing from them.

I agree wholeheartedly! I want on so badly, but is nice to know what is going on.

I can't wait for mine! Hopefully it will get it this weekend but I'm also hoping not. I got a lot of school work to do and if I got the email, I'm absolutely sure I will NOT focus. I get distracted easily like what I'm doing right now :P

I think waiting is harder for my kids than for me. I really hope that I don't have to wait until September 30th.

Yup, all these SSers who have said they got their letter! But this site is the best Potter site there is (second only to Pottermore).

All this waiting is torture! but I heard their sending the welcome e-mails randomly if so I hope thats the case because i registered on day 5 so that would mean I'd get it in mid/late september. My luck I'll get the e-mail on September 30th. I hope I get it soon I've been checking my e-mail about 5 times a day maybe more. I just hope I don't get it this weekend because I'll have no computer access because I'll be in Las Vegas I might have computer for a day if I buy the hotel wifi but if i got into Pottermore this weekend I'd defiantly get the hotel wifi...or go to Starbucks!

I'm actually pretty calm about all this! :) I think the Magical Quill Challenge was the stressful part and now that I know for sure that I'm getting in, I'm good!

I just hope mine comes in soon...I go back to work on Aug. 29...and would love to have a few days to view pottermore before then!

I think that we can safely say, from what the blog is saying above, that because they are upgrading the Pottermore site as a result of the feedback, that they most likely have stopped sending out the emails. I hate to say this. But that sucks!!. Sigh! I guess we can stop checking our emails for now until they let us know when the next batch of emails is going out. I wonder how many SS members here who managed to get early entrance through the quills have already received their emails? Hmmmm....

Last night no email. i waited over hour more and still nothing.. :S

Perhaps today after i come home back from work (at late evening) maybe i have one very wanted email and sender is "Pottermore".

I really waiting and wanting this email now, i have registered day one so i have wait long enough to get Welcome Letter email i think.. :)

anyway i decieded to read the harry potter books from the first one until i got my email. :D

After I got your tweet, I read this on the website, checked my email and was disappointed, checked my spam and got a HUGE surprise! I have no idea why it was in the spam folder though...

Wow! I got into Pottermore the last day...I´tried the first, but after 6 days of checking my email I tried againg..And I did it!!!

So, I have to wait a century...!!!

Ahhh, I can't wait. I knew I wouldn't be lucky enough to get an early welcome email despite getting in on day 2. I'm so glad I've recently became obsessed with another game to while away the time waiting for Pottermore XD. I just hope it comes before I have to go back to college.

the third group of owls were sent 3 hours ago....I think we missed
them again.

That has been the best post from Pottermore I have seen. It explains what they are doing and why. In other words the first few people who got on were the "test cases" and they are trying it out to see what is good and bad and then by the time the rest of us get our letters to sign in it will be in better working order. Smart. Wish companies would do that with there computer systems too.

I got in on this batch. If anyone is curious, I was day one, and registered and confirmed within about 20 minutes of the first clue being released.

At first I was happy that Pottermore was updating when they've sent new emails, because I thought it would stop me from checking my email every hour, but I still ended up doing that. :xd: I can't wait much longer...
