Nina Voelker talks Half-Blood Prince role
 
Nina Voelker, who was cast in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (as recently announced), explained what significance her original character, Wendy Slinkhard, played in the film:

It's only a very small role, Slinkhard Wendy is a former student of Professor Slughorn's and is now a published author, so I was in a picture with Professor Slughorn, played by Jim Broadbent, signing my books for him....

I still don't understand how they can take out the Gaunts and add in their own random characters, but I do support this girl. :) I hope she does a good job!

they took out the Gaunts??? how could they take out the Gaunts and then add other characters. Weren't the Gaunts supposed to be important as they helped Harry understand Voldemort's background better and plus the entire thing with the horocrux! I hate how they take out crucial parts of the book. *annoyed* (although I do agree, I will support and actor or actress who has the honor of being part of the series)

I'm pretty sure that that was announced a while ago here, but then again, that could have just been a rumor.

With characters been added and omitted it really makes me wonder which characters are going to be in the film.
