Nick Moran talks deleted Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I gory scenes

Actor Nick Moran, who plays Snatcher Scabior in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, recently spoke about how some of his scenes were removed from the final cut, due to be far too gory.

Quote:

"The scenes I did were really, really dark, really, really dark, but when I went to see them they cut some of the worst bits out, and I was talking to producer David Heyman, saying, 'Oh no, why's that gone?' He said, apparently it was like watching Saw," Moran said.

"It's been brilliant. I'm the new baddie in the Harry Potter film. I can't really give too much away - it's hilarious, because your script has a watermark in it," he recalled.

"It says a number, which is on every page, so that if you lose it, everyone knows it was you. So it's all top secret."
Nick and Deathly Hallows costar Jason Isaacs attended the UK premiere of his upcoming film, The Kid, earlier this week. Photos of the two actors can be found in our galleries.

Wow, I wonder what they did. :o

jain 09-17-2010 06:56 PM

it might have something to do with the PG ratings...and someone should have told him his shirt button is undone.

HogwartsHokage 09-17-2010 06:56 PM

Really? I knew DH was going to be super dark somehow, but I never thought they had to go to the point where they start deleting stuff. :(

Canoir Greengrass 09-17-2010 07:28 PM

I wonder what scene that he was talking about

Looneybird 09-17-2010 07:32 PM

Well, personally I am not a fan of gore but now a part of me is wondering exactly what was in those scenes to begin. :hmm: Call it my Ravenclaw curiosity but I really want to know. :shifty: I'm totally squemish but a part of me would like to see Harry Potter involve gore just 'cos it's hard to imagine Harry Potter and Saw in the same category. However, I suppose that if the film was gory, then it just wouldn't be Harry Potter. I assume, they'd never release the deleted scenes in the DVD either. Maybe?

Patronus Charm 09-17-2010 07:38 PM

oh this is all to preserve a safe PG rating....not too much blood at all....that is ok though, i want my daughters to enjoy it and not get put off by "gory" bits.

OrangeBubbleSnake 09-17-2010 07:39 PM

This is a depressing read. Then again if it really did look like something out of Saw it probably doesn't belong in Harry Potter. I want to know what it was tho O.o If it was worse than the Sectumsempra scene, yeah I can see why it was taken out. I still want to see this scene tho O_o

I actually would have loved to see something like that. I don't mind gore and if not in excess then I think it would have been alright. I mean book 7 is pretty far from child territory. But I don't mind I know it will still be amazing. Jason looks really good too :)

MatisseSeymour 09-17-2010 07:47 PM

gosh darnet why did they do that!!!!
its all about how this ones sooooooooooooooo different from the rest!!!!!
)):

Emileyn 09-17-2010 07:57 PM

Huh, that's kind of interesting. I don't think I'd mind seeing gore if it had to do with Harry Potter. Hopefully they put it with the deleted scenes when the DVD comes out ^_^

phoenix03 09-17-2010 08:43 PM

I hope they put it as a deleted scene!

theycallmetheSeeker 09-17-2010 08:44 PM

"I'm the new baddie in Harry Potter".. ?

My my, someone appears to have a bit of an overblown sense of his character's importance :P

Please, Scabior's one of practically about a dozen lower level type of villains showcased in DH.

Yea but haven't previous films in the series already been PG-13? So I'm not sure why there'd be a pressing to get this one in at PG. Plus hello, it's MORE than reasonable for these two films to be at least PG-13 for petes sake. In fact if you were doing a true, genuine adaptation they should probably even be rated R.

the fastest seeker 09-17-2010 09:11 PM

Mm.. :hmm: Wonder what scene is it?
:gasp: and what is that Lucius wow he's so different

KatielovesHP 09-17-2010 09:15 PM

Hmm..interesting!

So excited!!:D

bonnieginnyfan1 09-17-2010 09:34 PM

I don't know what scene there talking about but it would be kind of cool to sse. :)

Steelsheen 09-17-2010 09:59 PM

boo. they took the best bits out already :(

i got two words for this= Directors Cut. yup we need it for each film, in all its awkward/ boring/ gory details.

alohomora♥ 09-17-2010 10:00 PM

Very interesting!!!!! What scene could it be?♥

silver_gitana4 09-17-2010 10:01 PM

that last pic with Jason Isaac\'s is so HOT.

JackW092 09-17-2010 10:13 PM

Aww. Hopefully they put it on the DVD :xd:

princess of*hp* 09-17-2010 10:57 PM

At first, I was a bit angered. For example, right after Ron, Hermione, and Dan leave the MoM and are in the forest, where Hermione raises her wand and her other hand, she was supposed to have blood on her hands.

Long story short, I thought they cut out something like that.

But... Saw, really? :erm: Maybe it\'s a good thing that those scenes were cut.

Ginny GL 09-18-2010 12:03 AM

One very good looking snatcher!

Jason looks just great!

harrypfreak4life 09-18-2010 12:52 AM

Deathly Hallows is only in 63 days now...

awww!! but the gory scenes are the best!!! Although I am really not a fan of saw, so maybe it was a good thing they took it out...lol i mean, we want to make J.K. Rowling look like she should be out of jail, unlike the creator of saw...haha

R-Luchy~W*7*PG~ 09-18-2010 01:00 AM

They shouldn\'t cut it out!

Hermione J. Granger 09-18-2010 02:36 AM

Man I wish they would have kept those in.
