New original characters cast for Half-Blood Prince? (UPDATED)
 
The Snitch is reporting that new original characters have been cast for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:

TheSnitch can reveal that two characters are being introduced to Half-Blood Prince by Warner Brothers.

The character names are Flora and Hestia Carrow and they are being played by Amber and Ruby Evans respectively.

These two actresses were present at the filming at Gloucester Cathedral but as of yet we are not sure of their role in the upcoming film, just that they have only appeared in a film named Signs of Life, which was released October 2007.
Also, news has come that Helena Bonham-Carter and Tom Felton will be getting wardrobe and hair fittings for their characters, and that discussions about the Astronomy Tower scene (where Snape kills Dumbledore), will take place next week:

It even has an Advanced Schedule that reveals that Helena Bonham-Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) is having a costume, wig, mask and teeth fitting while Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) will be getting his hair coloured, both on Tuesday 12th February!

It also mentions that there is a storyboard meeting for the Astonomy Tower sequence on Monday 11th February.
Finally, The Snitch found out what scene was being filmed at Gloucester Cathedral, and the truth about the rumour that was circulating in reference to a pair of crutches found on the set (that were supposedly for Ron Weasley's character):

A source from the set today revealed to me that the scene being shot was Professor McGonagall telling Ron and Harry that they can take Potions for their NEWTS.

This scene involved 200 extras, ranging from First Years to Seventh Years.

The wooden crutches that were seen being taken into Gloucester Cathedral were not there for Ron but in fact for two of the extras who were already on their plastic crutches.
Please treat all of this information as rumours until we hear confirmation.

I'm so excited for this film! Can't wait to see...and I especially can't for more Rupert and Helena Bonham Carter!

The Carrows aren't original. The Carrows are the siblings who taught their twisted version of DADA and Muggle Studies in the seventh book. Hmm...unless it's completely different. Whatever...I just hope they didn't cut a legitimate character to add these two.

I'm with you, Shannon. The second I saw the name Carrow I thought, 'but they already have characters in the books with that name, why have more?' Plus, I doubt these twins are related to the Death Eaters, so now I wonder why they needed to be in the Gloucestershire filming.

Yes but it has to be repeatedly topped up, to prevent his roots from showing.

This makes me think there are more added scenes, possibly with Jo's contribution.

But seriously, why bother with changing the name of the Carrows? They aren't new/OC, they were already in HBP, the first name is just changed. They were brother and sister Death Eaters... the ended up doing all the detention in Deathly Hallows for Hogwarts Students and teaching two classes (when Neville was explaining what happened at Hogwarts while the trio was gone).
So they aren't new, they were already there but different first names. Something with A... Amelia and A-something or whatever. Don't remember but it was exactly but it was something like that and they are in the books.

I'll probably be seeing it in French though because I won't be here (to see it in English) when it comes out... bah! My 2nd language technically but it won't entirely be the same... (being I probably won't understand as much and it'll probably sound really weird to me :lol:)

Either way, it'll be awesome! No matter how much they can take from the book it's still gonna be a good movie :)

Hopefully we get to see more of Tom in this film. Well he should have a bigger part since Harry is freaking out about Draco through most of the film..

These Carrows, yes. Not the ones from the book. They have sometimes added scenes/characters per the permission of Jo. After all, she gets to pre-approve the script. That was how they found out about Dumbledore, initially.
