Mugglenet is running a PoA Survey

Most fans will have seen the film 'Prisoner of Azkaban' by now if it has been released in their part of the world, so Mugglenet have come up with a survey to see what the fans think of the film. You can take the survey by going here.

Here are some examples of questions:

Quote:

Draco's whimpering was:*
* Pathetic* *
* Pathetic and funny*

Quote:

The Dementors were awesome.*
* Yeah* *
* Yep* *
* I had to sleep in my parents' bed that night*

The majority of the questions asked are on characteristics and how good the actors were in their roles.

According to the results thus far, the best actors were Rupert Grint aka Ron (7425 votes) and Alan Rickman aka Snape (7359 votes).

Gary Oldman aka Sirius (6693 votes) and Emma Thompson Trelawyney (5796 votes) came in as a close second.

I really dont see how anyone can call film veterans such as Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman "poor" but then again, that's probably just the children voting.

Amazingly, not many people found Draco's cowering pathetic and most voted Prisoner of Azkaban as "One rung below Brilliant".

I could understand him cowering with the wand thing, but I think the real Malfoy would've punched her back, or worse.

Well, the real Malfoy just left, didn't he? I don't know, I thought the cowering bit was a OTT. I can understand a little cowering, I mean who wouldn't cower at wand point (maybe not Snape, but that's not the point), but the practically crying in front of his friends? I don't know... but, doesn't really matter; it's not like it "ruined" the film or anything :lol:

Too true. It wasn't "ruined" for me, just "one rung beneath brilliant".

Yes, that was an apt assessment.

angels-in-my-heart 06-14-2004 12:48 PM

Done it! :) I thought it was funny, Draco cowering. Nice survey. One rung below 'brilliant' for me :lol:

sparklyjazz 06-14-2004 03:21 PM

It's neat to see how the survey has progressed since it was first posted here-- what people liked and didn't like, and how there are some near half and halves when it comes to opinons.

I, too, ranked it a rung below brilliance, but I really thought that "Poor Prof. Lupin's having a rough night" was a better line than the Ron-Spider one. My fav was actually when Hermione said "Is that what my hair looks like from the back?"

I liked the Prof. Lupin line better too; the other just made Ron look like an idiot. I dont think Hermione would care about her hair personally, it's just not in her character. Perhaps at the Yule Ball she would, because she wants to look at her best, but not when she's trying to save two people's lives.

Edge 06-14-2004 03:28 PM

"One rung below brilliant." Hmm... yes, that really describes how I feel with the movie...
I'll go check the survey now... Thanks for the info! :sorcerer:

Does anyone know what the thing with the "little people jumping on keyboards" is all about? I'd never heard of that before.

Draco's Cowering... very pathetic but somewhat funny. He really looked like he was going to wet himself with Hermione's wand at his throat. And the "It's killed me" or whatever he says in COMC is just pathetic and funny, I don't think anyone in the audience felt the least bit scared or worried for Malfoy... and not just because he's an arrogant little brat. (Both times I've seen the movie the Audience just laughed at that part.)

I loved the "you tell them spiders, Ron" line. The other one was good but it wasn't quite as funny.

I'm glad they put the Shrunken Head question in the survey. I didn't quite get the point of them except for comic relief... which could have been their main purpose.

rupertLOVER22 06-14-2004 06:52 PM

Yes, one rung below brillant is good. I just realized sonmething, Ron never receved Pig!!! Whats going to happen in the 4th movie, Ron is just going to show up with an owl? I was very mad at that.

yeah, the cowering was very pathetic, honestly. Draco wouldn't do that! uh. lol cool survey though!

I'll bet you $5 CAD they cut Pig completely out of the series. Probably give his best lines to Hedwig. :lol:

I'm still ticked that they didn't bring in Peeves. the chances of him showing up for movie 5 is becoming less and less. :(

And they cut out most of Fred and George's stuff. I'm glad they kept in the part where they gave the map to Harry though, and he didn't just find it or something.

Snape :wub: was brillant as always.

Yes, Cuaron wanted to add little people jumping on a piano into one of the scenes of the movie. JK nixed this idea by firmly stating that there are no little people in this world. She absolutely would not have it.

There are little people, I mean, Flitwick and that small wizrad in the great hall with Snape, Dumbledore and Filch. Just not ones jumping on a piano.

I think he got carried away with having fun when he thought up the shrunken heads.

Yeah, that was hilarious.

I just did the survey and I am happy with the way people have been honest, I put one rung below Brilliant too, I thought the Werewolf scene was good thouse, I'm surprised most people voted again it - saying it was bald! LOL - Well maybe it was abit but I loved it.

Good to see Black, Thewlis and Rickman got positive scores though.

The Draco thing for me was a little pathetic, but I still laughed because Draco is rather pathetic really....

Overall great film and good survey! :sorcerer:

froeth 06-15-2004 05:36 PM

I was sort of confused that the 'Professor Lupin's having a bad night.' line scored higher than the 'You tell those spiders, Ron.' line. I laughed out loud at that!

I'm sorry but it was bald... you're like sitting in the theatre, totally into the scene and then you're like huh? :huh: Where's its hair? Snuffles got a full set of hair... why does lupin have to suffer. :lol:

EmmaRiddle 06-16-2004 11:19 AM

I much preferred the "bald" werewofl look. It brought it out of fantasy and into a believable context to the point where you could imagine it to be real. Just like what they did with TLC, placing it right next to a muggle train station. It really did reflect how they were in a world, within a world.
