Motion Picture Association of America rates extended Sorcerer's Stone
 

The latest release of ratings from the Motion Picture Association of America includes a certificate of PG for an extended version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, for 'some scary moments and mild language.' The distributor is listed as Warner Home Video, however no release date is available. Warner Brothers have however commented, saying;

Ultimate Collector's Editions (including audition tapes featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson) of the first two films are currently available for pre-order at the following links;

Sorcerer's Stone: Blu-ray. DVD
Chamber of Secrets: Blu-ray. DVD

We do not know whether the extended version is included on these or whether it's on a different DVD entirely. There is currently no release date for these either. We will keep you informed of any further developments.

now an extended version....i would buy, but not just a re-packaged dvd on blu ray

So does anyone know what scene they are extending?
I think either way I'll stick with my 2-disc specials.I don't have enough money to shell out on a new version of something I already have. :(

Mind you I wouldn\'t have the Sorcerer\'s Stone one anyway cos I\'m in England. :P

This is really cool. I do hope some good scenes will show up in these DVD\'s. It is amazing that WB has chosen to do this.

Mmhmm...sounds quite interesting. I don\'t think I\'ll end up buying it, though. I\'m thinking of waiting till the very last film comes out on DVD, and hopefully they\'ll have a super-amazing box set.

For now, I shall also live with what I already have. Nevertheless, it would be cool to see what these extended scenes are...if they\'re so miniscule and unimportant, then there really is no point in buying it. :\

Cool but it\'ll probs be wee bits here and there that you\'ll barely notice that they add in. Just another way of getting us to fork out as much cash as they can squeeze out of these films.

I can\'t wait to see the trio\'s auditions! But i\'m going to wait until both parts of DH are out because then I know they\'re really going to have an ultimate edition. WB is pulling a George Lucas with the release of these new versions. They know people will keep buying them if they release different sets and different versions.

I wanna see those auditions. :P
