Mira Nair still considering directing Order of the Phoenix film
 

For a few weeks now we've been hearing conflicting rumors about Mira Nair's involvement in talks with WB about filming the fifth Harry Potter film.

The Strait Times now has an interview with her where, once again, the subject of directing a Potter film, has arisen.

I think its gonna be very interesting if she says yes...Could be interesting to see how she would take in the HP universe...and also she would be the first female director...

I hope she can handle it if she does...

It really doesn't matter if she does it or not, but that if she does it she can handle it....

I thought the producers had denied ever offering her the job a few weeks back? It's hard to keep track of rumors, I only hope that whoever eventually decides to direct does a good job.

It would be quite interesting to see a woman directing this film, I hope she makes the right choice and like most of you say,make up her mind soon.

I want Alfonso to film it. It would be interesting if she got it, but I hope not.
To me she doesn't seem very interested. I want someone who really wants it. Some one who loves Harry Potter and the whole maical world.

Exactly. Why take a director who's heart is not into HP? I want someone who could gain the confidence of tha fans. :)...make sure that we won't be disappointed *cough* Cuaron *cough*...lol

but mike newell is the director for GoF. If alfonso didn't do it then why think he would do OotP?

I would be good if she does the film! but if she can't than they should find someone very gud!

I'd like to see Alfonso direct again too. He did a great job with PoA, and I really like his style. I'd hate for GoF to have a completely different feel to it...

Then again, I'm sure I'll love the film regardless of who directs it! ; )

He didn't do GoF because he wanted a break from Potter. Alfonso said he'd do OotP if he was asked and if the cast stayed the same.

im glad shes still considering it, but i have to agree with people that she should make up her mind.
agreed, if they loved HP as well theyd direct it to show it the way fans would want to see it and it'd be awesome!

Absolutely right you are! I definitely has to have someone who wants to do it and is passionate abotu the movies and someone who can keep up to the standards Afonso has now set! And I guess Mike Newel will do too.
She's very reluctant about it. I really don't know about her doign it. But if she says yes, I'm hoping she can handle it!!
Besides I think Afonso should take up teh job! I lovvved POA!!!!
