Open auditions for the role of Luna Lovegood, a new Ravenclaw character in ' Order of the Phoenix', will be held this weekend in London.
They will take place THIS Saturday (January 14th) from 10am (tthough the queue will be open from 8am) and 2pm on 14 January, at the Central Hall Westminster, Storey's Gate, in London. Quote:
People attending must:
* Be between the ages of 13-16
* Live in the UK or Ireland
* Bring a passport/birth certificate with them
* Bring proof of your address
* Wear no costumes, make-up or high heels
Anybody who doesn't have a passport won't be seen, and neither will girls who don't live in the UK or Ireland, and Luna is the only part they're looking for. Quote:
They're just planning to take a photo of anyone they think has the right look, and will get back in touch with some of them for an audition.

I live in the US!! I wish I lived in the UK! My friend who was going to audition(she was born and lived there in the UK) but sent in her thingy too late! She's only 11 though so she wouldn't be able to anyway. Good Luck to anyone here who is trying!!!

Yes, but they had narrowed it down already. We were told that and that they would be announcing who would be playing her soon. They wouldn't need an open casting call if they were ready to announce! So this is actually quite perplexing. Even if the girl they chose backed out, they should have someone else lined up.

You'd still have a few problems. JK wants Brits, you wouldn't have the accent, then there's taxes, education and visas to consider. Some of that can take weeks/months to arrange with all the red tape. All in all, it's better off that they choose from people already living here.
I can't believe they've been casting HP films for like 6/7 years now and people are still asking/complaining about the Brit only thing!

Oh! I wish I lived in the UK or Ireland. Too bad I live on the whole other side of the world! it's not fair! I think they should have people from around the world try for the part. As long as they could do accents it'd be cool! They would have much more tlent and maybe the right person for the part may be from a place not near Ireland or th UK. Oh well. I should respect their judgement. They probably don't want to spend too much on flight cost!
