| | |  JK still writing - no HBP release date anytime soon
Two separate people respresenting Jo Rowling have contacted The Leaky Cauldron today concerning all the memos about a Half-Blood Prince release date being announced in January 2005( here, here and here).
These sources are apparently completely uninformed therefore meaning there is no truth in the rumors. The release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince wont be announced in January and no release date has been slated yet.
The official spokespeople have said: Quote:
"If there was an announcement about to be made early next year no one would know about it," one said. Another: "When there's news it will be on JKR's site," and anything else is pure speculation.

That's not to say that it's out of the question that an announcement isn't far off, just that if there is one, the news would never reach a bookstore before being on JKR's site. Also: She is definitely still writing (as she said on her site!) and it would take a little while after handing the book in to determine a date.

Why does everyone want it so bad? I for one can wait, as long as it isn't like OOtP.
1. Because I want her to make it one of the best so far, which means waiting.
Patiants is a virtue.
2. It means that the whole magical experience is coming to an end. After this one comes out, it means that the last one is just around the corner and the whole magical world will cease to exsist. Okay, not cease to exsist, but you know what I mean.

Since I'm not driven total crazy about the book, even if the title is out long before the date release, then I am considered totaly fine.  Atleast it gives me more of a reason to push my mom to catch to where I'm at, more perhaps before the next movie comes out.
When OotP was going through its release on June 2003 last year, I knew I had been missing something in the summer of 2002, the year before it's release. Then it hit me. It was because I didn't know the title of OotP nor the date of its release. I was totally psyched about it and it nearly drove me mad. First, sites said it was going to be released in the late summer of 2002. Then they say wasn't. Then it was fall 2002, then again, it wasn't, then again, and again. Then there was finally a break in the beginning of Jan'03 for me from my most reliable source: Mugglenet. It, of course annouced the official date of its release- the day of the summer solstice. Soon, towards the end of my sophmore year, I kept myself occupied in acting in a school musical and being tech in a spring play afterwards. Then I first reserved the book at the library should I not get it, then purchasing/reserve a certificate of the book at a school book fair (I had to be there the time it opens), then cancel the reserved library book to save alot time for the librarians because I knew I was going to get it. Even though I kept myself busy I still went crazy, but hyper about it's release too (as it was getting close), and I look somewhat looking like this:  
All in the end, it went well, despite my mom wanting me to go to sleep right away as it was long past midnight. But I still managed to read the whole thing within a day, almost without breaks from Sat 21, 8am to
Sun 22, 6am (<- this when I fell asleep while reading the book's endnotes on it's few last pages).
As for my conclusion, I predict it will come out sometime in the year...2006! No, just kidding...It's bound to come out very soon, somewhere in this coming year, 2005, well because of the rumours and the already-announced title. I think, the more the rumours, the sooner the announcement of the date! Eh, you don't have to agree with me on this, but this is what I believe.
