| | |  JK donates £20,000 to Scottish kids literature
The Times has an article reporting that J.K.Rowling has donated £20,000 ($37,500) to children's literature in Scotland. Quote:
The money will be used to establish the Scottish Centre for the Children’s Book in Edinburgh.
J.K.Rowling is said to be “passionate” about encouraging children’s love of literature and has always taken a keen interest in her young readers.

“We are very excited about the launch of this new agency later in the year,” said Marc Lambert, the chief executive of the Scottish Book Trust.
“Scotland has a long history of producing children’s writers of exceptional quality from Robert Louis Stevenson to JM Barrie. Today we have a huge range of wonderful children’s authors including JK Rowling, Joan Lingard and Keith Gray.
“This is about providing an institution that is specifically concerned with bringing more books to children. Writers, who will also have a direct input, will develop workshops and plans for the centre.”

These are my favourite articles - hearing about Ms. Rowling's and other HP people's involvment! Good for her!  Not only is she a brilliant writer, she also realizes her impact and the power she can have in helping literacy expand. I really love that about her.

That's great! JKR is so nice and thoughtful. It's great how HP love her just as much as the books. She is internationaly famous, yet gives off certain qualities that could make you think she was your best friend. I love her!
