Harry Potter Film Stars James and Oliver Phelps Kick Off Exhibition Opening at First Asian Venue

To celebrate the Asian premier of Harry Potter: The Exhibition at Singapore’s ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, Harry Potter film stars James and Oliver Phelps, who play Fred and George Weasley in the film series, will bring their magical wit and charm to the opening events. The exhibition offers fans a first-hand look inside the famous wizard’s magical world, giving guests the opportunity to experience the amazing craftsmanship of hundreds of authentic props and costumes from the Harry Potter films. The exhibition will be open to the public Saturday, 2 June until Sunday, 30 September 2012.

“It is absolutely incredible that these two actors from the films, who did their characters in the books so much justice, are here for Asia’s preview of this much anticipated exhibition,” said Mr. Nick Dixon, Executive Director, ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. “We hope fans throughout Asia will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition while here at ArtScience Museum, and discover a world of creativity through the magical Harry Potter: The Exhibition.”

In a 1,400 square metre exhibit space, Harry Potter: The Exhibition will showcase its grand collection of props, costumes and creatures in immersive settings inspired by the film sets—including the Great Hall, Hagrid’s hut and the Gryffindor™ common room. Fan favorites such as Harry’s wand and eyeglasses, the Marauder’s Map, Gryffindor school uniforms and an array of Quidditch™ equipment will be on display; as well as a collection of magical creatures like BuckbeakTM the Hippogriff, a Hungarian Horntail dragon, and even a Dementor. Guests will also be able to try their hand at some of the activities experienced by students at Hogwarts™, such as pulling a screaming Mandrake from its pot or tossing a Quaffle in the Quidditch area.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition, created and toured by Global Experience Specialists, Inc. (GES) in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, will be displayed at ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands from 2 June 2012 through 30 September 2012.
