J.K.Rowling to attend charity reading in New York (updated) J.K.Rowling is due to attend a charity reading at Radio City Music Hall in New York in August. The event will be raising funds for the Haven Foundation who aim to help performing artists who have suffered illnesses or debilitating accidents that prevent them from working. Proceeds will also go to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, an international medical group that brings emergency aid to people in disaster zones. Jo will be joined by Stephen King [the found of Haven Foundation] and John Irving. Mr King explains in the article why he wanted JK present at the event; Quote:

The event itself is already pretty big, but I agree, with Jo around it's going to get even more publicity. Which is great for everyone involved because that's a very meaningful cause to work for. I wonder what she'll be reading though? |

Wow! Any idea when tickets will be going on sale? I went on the site and there wasn’t anything up yet. Jo is always so generous, and she really uses her success to help loads of people. She’s amazing :). |
