J.K. Rowling receives 2016 PEN/Allen Foundation Literary Service Award J.K. Rowling headed to New York City this week, and was honored at the 2016 PEN Literary Gala and Free Expression Awards on Monday evening with the 2016 PEN/Allen Foundation Literary Service Award. The Harry Potter author can be seen making a speech at around 1:48 hours into the livestream below, which has now finished. Actress Sarah Jessica Parker introduced Rowling at the ceremony.
