HP actors support U.K. Film Club

The U.K. government launched Film Club last month, a website that allows schools to order DVDs online (through Lovefilm) and then review and rate the films on the site. At present only 25 schools are participating but plans are in the works to roll out the program to 10,000 primary and secondary schools by this summer. Among the supporters of the program are HP actors Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Alan Rickman (Professor Snape), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) and John Hurt (Mr. Ollivander) who will reportedly join other actors, directors and producers in visiting schools to show their support for the program.

According to Rickman:

Quote:

Film Club is such a great idea. Play Stations and IPods are fun but there's nothing like sinking into a story and loving, hating or identifying with a character in a film. You, too, could be a writer, director, producer, cinematographer, editor, script-supervisor, make-up artist or grip. Or actor. Keep watching!

Great idea, I just hope lovefilm works out better for the schools than it did for me! Paid £10 for a trial and they said I'd already had one, once that got sorted they never even bothered to send me any DVDs, absolute rubbish!!! :hairpull: I was not impressed! grr..

Merely another ploy by the capitalist media to indoctrinate you on how all you should do is buy junk [pile it up in these nifty storage rooms they rent], while telling you to look like Paris Hilton and smoke cigarettes.

:faint:

And here I thought the good guys were winning ... <_< Seriously, are they going to teach them about film appreciation? Or are they just going to watch movies? Because if you don't know lighting or angles you don't know movies. I mean ... teachers explain books we read in school, are they going to explain films? *Ottery doubts the powers of the evil media empires*
At least you could see the Nazi's coming ... :erm:
