| | | Harry Potter: The Exhibition Edmonton, Canada tour extended to April 6, 2014
TELUS World of Science – Edmonton announced Tuesday morning that Harry Potter: The Exhibition will extend its tour in the western Canadian city until April 6, 2014 - it was originally set to end this weekend. The next international stop for Harry Potter: The Exhibition will be in Sweden sometime this May. Due to popular demand, TELUS World of Science – Edmonton has extended the run of Harry Potter: The Exhibition until April 6, 2014. Originally scheduled to close March 9, 2014, the blockbuster exhibition has already attracted an incredible number of fans from Western Canada and the extension will allow more visitors to experience the exhibition before it leaves North America to begin a European tour.
In celebration of the extension, from March 4 through April 6, Harry Potter: The Exhibition guests can enter for a chance to win one of the exhibition’s replica Quaffle™ balls or one of three souvenir posters, each signed by James and Oliver Phelps who played Fred and George Weasley, the prankster twins, in the Harry Potter film series.
To be entered for a chance to win, visitors who purchase tickets at the box office or online for any Harry Potter: The Exhibition date between March 4 and April 6 will receive an entry form. Winners will be drawn on April 7 and announced at the venue. No purchase is necessary and official contest rules are available on the TELUS World of Science – Edmonton website and at the box office.
Visitors to the exhibition will see the amazing craftsmanship behind hundreds of authentic costumes and film props from all eight of the Harry Potter films. Created by Global Experience Specialists (GES) in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the exhibition has been experienced by more than three‐million visitors around the globe since its debut five years ago. The exhibition made its world premiere in Chicago in April 2009, with stops in Boston, Toronto, Seattle, New York, Sydney, Singapore and Tokyo, before openeding in Edmonton on November 23, 2013.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition includes elaborate settings inspired by the film sets and locations that are filled with authentic film props, costumes and creatures including Harry Potter’s glasses, wand and Nimbus 2000™. Guests can also step inside interactive displays such as a re‐creation of Hagrid’s hut and sit in his giant‐sized armchair, enter the Quidditch™ area and toss a Quaffle, and even pull a Mandrake in the Herbology classroom vignette.
The exhibition is open daily and will run through Sunday, April 6, 2014 at TELUS World of Science ‐ Edmonton. Tickets are available online at telusworldofscienceedmonton.com, by calling 780‐451‐3344, or by visiting the science centre’s box office.
