Amazon officially announced that the Harry Potter: Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey as part of a box set that will also include a replica copy of The Monster Book of Monsters, all set to be available this December 4, 2012. SnitchSeeker originally reported on this earlier in the year, though the image and press release are new; the box set is available at a price of $600 USD.

The book set will contain:

* Environments Envisioned: Building Fantastic Sets and Scouting Dramatic Locations
* A Guide to the Graphic Arts Department: Posters, Prints, and Publications from the Harry Potter Films

Harry Potter™: Page to Screen: THE COMPLETE FILMMAKING JOURNEY - An Exclusive Hogwarts-worthy Collector’s Edition on December 4, 2012

Fans will delight in this immersive, nearly 1,500-page tour of the Harry Potter films.

Limited to 3,000 copies worldwide.

SpeRevelio! Amazon Publishing today announced its plans to publish Insight Editions’ “Harry Potter: Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey,” an exclusive, expanded, and collectible limited edition book set to release on December 4, 2012. This momentous publication is an exclusive, expanded, and collectible limited edition version of Insight Editions’ New York Times Bestseller, “Harry Potter: Page to Screen.” With seven additional volumes and nearly one thousand additional pages, this limited edition set spectacularly reproduces never-before-seen artwork and chronicles the filmmaking process to a degree of detail never seen before.

Each of the eight volumes in the set are designed to resemble books from the library shelves at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, made with materials and techniques that recall artisan bookmaking of yore. Six of the volumes are dedicated to the workings of several of the creative production departments that made the Harry Potter films so memorable—creature effects, costumes, graphics, production design, props, and special effects—while the seventh additional book, a commemorative keepsake, looks back on the relationships that developed between cast and crew during the ten-plus years it took to complete the historic film series.

Completing this Harry Potter library set is a scale replica of the The Monster Book of Monsters, sculpted and flocked to resemble the film prop in every detail. A gilded, oversized portfolio includes five frame-able prints of pivotal pieces of concept art created by the film series’ most prolific artists.

3,000 copies worldwide is a tiny amount of books. It's been priced at the serious collector. No doubt sometime soom in a cheaper format it will be made available. But if i had the money, i'd be trying my luck for that small print run.

Are exchange rates for Australia/America transactions good for me? Cause I would buy this ... maybe my parents would hate it a little less if it was for under $600 ...

I find this highly unfair! Potterheads have and always will be there for Harry and it appears people are trying to take that to their advantage! £552!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WHO do they expect to pay that amount of money?!?! I infinitely want this now but how am I supposed to pay for it?!?! How are we supposed to pay for it?!?!
They need to ask themselves: Would Jo Rowling approve? I don't think she would approve of that price tag.

Rant over.

MeeeeYOWZUH!

agree - I'm a fan but $600!!?? I've just brought the wizards collection for $250 AUS which included an incredible amount of information and entertainment. But with only 3000 sets produced the cost base is a bit slim to expect any significant discounts.
Afraid I'm going to have to pass on this one.

Why don't they sell individual copies of those books(not counting the Page to Screen one cause it was already released by itself)? That way if you can't afford the whole thing like most of us at least we could buy the books one at a time.

It looks simply amazing but $600 is a little bit too rich.
