Harry Potter has featured on another Entertainment Weekly list, this time featuring pop culture hits that readers say the magazine couldn't pay them to see.

How can they judge it if they have never tried it? humph.. don't know what they are missing!

What a boring life that person must be living....they're probably under a rock in mars to never even see the movie.

i love the quote...i mean, so what? Many books out there i havent read and movies i havent seen and I dont go discussing it. Who seriously cares?

I just really hate it when people judge harry potter based on the films without reading the books! I used to be a HP-hater until i bothered picking up a book.

Actually, I totally understand where they're coming from. I tend to stay away from stuff that's over-hyped; luckily I wasn't paying too much attention to the hype when I first read it. While HP is worthy of its hype, sometimes overexposure ruins stuff. I can't blame 'em.

I can say the same about Twilight, so I'd hate to be hypocritical. Its all a matter of opinion.

I hate how people think that Harry Potter is just about brooms and waving a wand and having a British accent. It's so stupid. Well, that guy's missing out.

well that was pretty uninteresting...did the magazine have some free space in their new issue that they had to an article like that? :lol:

and its a bit sad that they actually put a quote from someone who has no idea what HP is about. Its not just a boy whos a wizard.

That list is so stupid..... how can someone who's never read/seen any HP say if it's bad or not.:head: The only people who can critique Harry Potter films are us, the beloved fans because we, um... know what we're talking about!!!?! I also saw that Lord of the Rings was on the list, which is also shocking! I am not very familiar with the story but I am not about to judge a movie I know is a box-office topper without knowing anything unlike someone......*ahem hem professor74*and yeah he [or she's] allowed to have an opinion I just don't understand why EW would chose to show that quote, or put HP on the list in the first place.

Whatever.... we know that HP is awesome and that's all that matters:hpbroom:

Okay, this time the phrase "don't judge a book by it's cover," is meant litterally. Not that the covers aren't totally awesome, but I can see them making people uninterested book.

Although the movies are well made, it's nothing like the book! JK really brings it out and no movie will do justice to her words. It's unfortunate that someone would judge a book or movie when they have not bothered to read or watch it.

*eyes wide* Wow. Wow. I can't actually believe that someone judged HP as a verry childish book. They judged a book by its cover.

Poor HSM. I guess the reader who commented about it is an adult. They can never understand the magic of Disney, JKR or WB. (No offence to over-18 fans, but that's the way my mom thought until I made her read the books. Now she's a big fan of HP.) They simply said: "It's just a boring, fantasy thing made by childish people, not worthy to read." They stick too much to the ground and aren't able to dream, to hope, to see the magic right in front of their eyes.

That's pretty much just my idea.

You know, EW might have just put in that quote to get Harry Potter fans mad. It seems a bit desperate to me. Pathetic really.

Whoever said that was probably just looking for a reaction because they know so many people like it.
When something is that popular, I bet people think they are being radical when they say they don't like it, like "hey look at me man, I don't follow the trend, take that you band-wagon-jumping losers!" I'm not saying you have to like the book, we all have our own opinion, but you shouldn't knock it till you try it, and if you don't like it, don't make a big deal about it. I don't like Harry Potter because everyone else does, I like it because it's good.

EW is always producing lists.

That's.... That's really bad.
They have got no idea what they're missing.
And we have tons of people here to back it up!

I Know At Least Three Peope Who have Told Me The Same Thing...I had them Read One of the Chapters to DH and All Three Of Them Are Now Finishing Up or have Finished At Least 5 of the 7 Books!

How terribly dull. They haven't read the books or watched the movies and they don't seem to have very good taste in Magazines ether.

Enterainment Weekly is an extremely boring magazine in my opinion (except when they have a Harry Potter artical), But I have read it before and atleast I gave it a chance.

These folks don't seem to like the idea of trying something.

I really hopes everyone that reads that article on the EW page makes a post like myself just to show how crazy that poll is. We overwelm the post page just to show how strong the HP fan base is.
