| | | Harry Potter is good for the UK film industry
Though there has been a world-wide decline at the box office over the past couple of years, the 'Mirror' is reporting that British films have actually doubled their world box office takings and it has a lot to do with the popularity of the Harry Potter films. Quote:
The Top 10 UK films last year took £1,385million, compared with £622million in 2003 - and despite a world box office slump.
Quote:
Culture Secretary Ms Jowell, in Cannes to meet film industry figures, said: "It's testament to our dynamic and innovative film industry that the UK had such a strong showing."
Quote:
Top 10 films: 1 Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire' 2 Charlie And The Chocolate Factory' 3 Batman Begins' 4 Kingdom Of Heaven' 5 Wallace And Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit' 6 Sahara' 7 The Corpse Bride' 8 The Phantom Of The Opera' 9 The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy' 10 The Brothers Grimm.

And now with Driving Lessons being released in the US. I shall go see that also.

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |

Oh that is awsome news! Oh us Brits can do it! *Jumps around for Harry Potter*
I'm sure it'll continue to do well. I mean why would it stop here. We have three more Potter movies to come!
Thanks Lissy! *Hugs*
