'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' director confirms Broadway theatre, cast updates
As the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won a record nine Olivier Awards this weekend, director John Tiffany gave a bit of an update on the Broadway run, set to open a year from now, in spring 2018.
John Tiffany: "It's all sorted. We've got the Lyric Theatre, and I think we're almost there with the actors. We open next year, spring."
Tiffany also revealed that he met and knew J.K. Rowling well before she became an internationally-renowned author with the Harry Potter books over 20 years ago, spotting her at a famous Edinburgh shop where she wrote the first in her series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
A couple of short interviews with the Cursed Child's Olivier acting winners, Noma Dumezweni (Supporting Actress, Hermione Granger), Anthony Boyle (Supporting Actor, Scorpius Malfoy), and Jamie Parker (Lead Actor, Harry Potter), can be watched below.
