As it is past midnight in the UK, today, December 28, marks Dame Maggie Smith's birthday. Maggie, best known for playing Head of Gryffindor House and Transfiguration Professor Minerva McGonagall, turns 76 years old today.
In addition to her work in the Harry Potter films, the Oscar-winning legend has been featured in other such projects as Gosford Park, Tea with Mussolini, Richard III, Sister Act, Hook, A Room with a View, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, and California Suite, amongst dozens of others.
