nope not rumors, got them straight for the horse's mouth themselves: Yates, Radcliffe and all the others who have spoken about this on record. their interviews are documented here at SS and other HP and movie sites. They all said this is the funniest HP movie, that its a lot of sex, drugs and R&R, likened to Trainspotting and all that. i'm not saying that they didnt speak about the darkness of the tale, but if you take the collected accounts of all the interviews done on the plot of HBP, the romantic-comedy aspect outweighs the darkness.


The crystalline structure in the cave was similar to the Krypton island in Superman Returns, which were copied off the Fortress of Solitude from the original Superman movies. one of the guys from set design (the name escapes me sorry) said that when they went looking around for how to design the Cave they stumbled onto this one cavern that reminded them of the Fortress of Solitude and used that as a basis for the design.


wasnt that at the dormitories? the one in the trailer looked to be at the common room, given that its by the fire place. oh well so they moved locations *shrugs*



i did think it could be the AK from Snape to DD, but then that castle/ man made structure in the background made me thought otherwise. or maybe they moved the location outside of the Astronomy tower who knows. but yeah that could also be old footage from GOF. we know that Yates used the Voldy footage from OOTP in the trailer.

Y'know, having looked at it shot by shot on mugglenet, there are a few things that I have noticed, firstly, in the more 'present' shots of DD, there is no damage to his hand, and Harry is missing his scar in the pensieve scenes.

Otherwise, I don't really like the cave, it is nothing like how I imagined it (but then you can't please us all), and some of the darker scenes, seem to look like either memory, or dreams.

As the film itself goes, from what Yates et all have said in Empire and other places, this one is definitely going to be dark, but the more lighthearted bits, are going to be exactly that, so we will get to laugh, and hopefully feel rather scared too, as we did when reading the book.

I can't wait for the full trailer, I wonder when we'll get it....

Exactly. Yes they're marketing it as a rom-com but that doesn't mean that's all it is. For every light moment, there is another that's dark. The thing is they've marketed every film thus far as being "darker" than the last. There's only so many times you can say that word and have it sound new. The romantic comedy angle sounds fresh, which is probably why they're using it. But it by no means indicates that the darkness of the tale is gone. In fact, I've experienced the exact opposite.

It will be the exact same one.

In the book yes, in the film, no.
