GOF Considered for Academy Award in Sound Editing 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' is being considered for another Academy Award. As previously reported, GOF is being considered in the categories of Achievement in Visual Effects and Best Original Song from a Motion Picture for 'Do the Hippogriff'. GOF is now being considered for an Oscar in the category of Achievement in Sound Editing as well.The film is one of seven in this category along with King Kong, Chronicles of Narnia, and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The Oscar Award nominations will be announced on January 31st, and the awards presentation will be broadcast on March 5, 2006 on ABC beginning at 5 p.m. PST. Source: The Leaky Cauldron |

GoF is bound to win at least one award -- SS and PoA were passed over for less worthy winners in past years (such as Spider-Man 2 and Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, for example). It'll likely take home the Best Visual Effects award, if anything else. |
