'Goblet of Fire' Award Nominations & Considerations
 

'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' is being honored with nominations in several different award shows, as previously reported. Two more have come to our attention!

Brendan Gleeson, who plays Mad Eye Moody, has been nominated for an award by London Film Critics in the category of "British Actor in a Supporting Role." The award presentation will be on February 8th, 2006 in London, England.




GOF is also being considered for another Oscar award. The Academy has placed GOF on a list of seven films for consideration in the category of "Achievement in Visual Effects."

Aww. I'm so happy for Brendan. :) It's about time someone other than the two popular choices got nominated for something. He totally deserves it too. He was just absolutely fabulous. :)

And go GoF! Definitely great visual effects. The dragon scene alone should give it the award. :)

thats sooo cool! an oscar! i did think this movie was far better in the visual effects than in the other 3.. and its also cool that brendan is winning an award, he was really good in acting moody's character of the 4th book.. :)

I hate it when Irish ppl like Brendan and westlife (not mad bout them, but they are irish so) n all get called British if they do somethin really gud, but if there rubbish THEN they call them Irish!!!! dont want 2 make a big deal, but it really does annoy me!!

it should definatly win the special effects one.....although!

GOF has a pretty tough competition 'coz Star Wars,King Kong,War of the Worlds and that Narnia thing are listed as well,but i think GOF deserves to win 'coz its visual effects were amazing. ROTS and King Kong were almost entirely filmed on a blue screen so their visual effects look pretty fake in some scenes. Surely Peter Jackson does have a knack for making the entire movie look like one big visual effect,it happened with LOTR,you know,but it's not good. Its effects looked really fake sometimes.

Brendon Gleeson acted very well. He should win. And as for Visual effects, there are so many to be found in GOF! Dragons and merpeople for example.

I think the scene with all the Dementors in HP 3 should win an Oscar for visual effects.
