Geraldine Somerville to return for Deathly Hallows

In a new interview with the Manchester Evening News Geraldine Somerville, Lily Potter in the Harry Potter films, says she intends to return for Deathly Hallows.

Quote:

That, of course, includes finishing off the remaining Harry Potter films.

“I’ll just come in and do my little, ‘I am Lily Potter,’ and go quietly.”
She also says she doesn't allow her son, Casper, who is 6, to watch the films as they're 'a bit scary.' Given that she has three children, she says she only chooses the projects that she really wants to do.

Quote:

Do Harry fans recognise her in the street?

“Occasionally a bit, I suppose.

“I’m not surprised when it happens – I am in it!”

She's funny, lovely dry british humour.

Thats nice to know she'll be back.

of course she has to come back! She is Lily Potter!!!!

its understandable why she doesnt allow her kids to watch HP yet. other than the fact that they are too young, she may be Harry's mom but the thing is she dies early in the story. not the most awesome thing to know in the HP universe.

Well we know she is in the last movie for the part in the book where she accompanies HP after he "uses" the stone & his dad, mom, Sirius and Lupin reappear.

Interesting she doesnt let her 6 year old watch the movies as they are too scary....many people I know are of that opinion. I think that the scary parts can always be explained and discussed. My kids were introduced at age 4 and they are quite used to HP and are "immune" to scary parts, but they are conditioned from an early age I suppose.

Interesting, I'm glad that they wouldn't change her.

I love Lily Potter!!! Thats great that Geraldine is coming back!

I am glad to see she is returning. I just hope all the actors will come back for their parts in DH. It might be just me but when you have to replace an actor in movies series like this it is kinda hard.

Oh yeah, totally agree w/ you! But my kids (and most of their friends) say "it is just make believe, they are actors, it is not real" and of course, to overcome the really scary parts, a 10 year old I know just looked at me and said "it is only computer graphics..." Jeesh...they get more techno savvy everyday...

I totally agree, I mean, would you like to see you mum die when you are only six years old (or at any age)? And even though she is just acting, I would have nightmares about my mum dying after watching my mum acting like she was dying. I think it's great she's comming back for DH, because there's nothing worse than changing actors from movie to movie. Then nothing in the film feels real. But this way, it's gonna be a great movie... :D

juanitalilangel 08-13-2008 10:20 PM

ugh..kind of good news...in my opinion she is looks very old in the HP movie...when Lily Potter is barely supposed to be like 21 years old.
BUT
im glad that they aren't replacing her because I hate when people are changed in the sequels of movies.

#1_harry_potter_fan_22 08-13-2008 11:19 PM

Of course she has to be in it!:faint: "I am Lily Potter" that was funny

NannyMcPhee 08-13-2008 11:51 PM

Geez, I'm still trying to grasp the Half-Blood Prince film .... o.O

I'm not ready for the Deathly Hallows film yet!!

But that is really exciting, knowing we'll see her again!

One last time..

-sniff-

OceanBaBY 08-14-2008 12:38 AM

YAY! Can't wait to see her in DH!

I don't think any of the actors is actually playing their "age" as a character. Heck, Snape is supposed to be what, 38 when he dies? Alan is 62!

Lily Evans 08-14-2008 05:02 AM

"I am Lily Potter" hahahaha...that was funny
Great she's returning!! :D

Pigwidgeon Took 08-14-2008 05:39 AM

YAY!!! Something they're keeping her for DH.

Can't wait to see her again..

Perhaps, when her 6 year old is old enough to really grasp the concept of death and that 'mommy didn't really die' in the movie, he'll get to watch it...
