French teen not to be sued A few days ago we told you about a French teenager who had been arrested after he translated, and posted a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the internet. Now, it appears that he will not be sued. This decision has been made by JK Rowling and the publisher of the French version. Quote:

Pfft. ... I mean, how interesting. =) |
He still did something really wrong. |
I think he should be sued for what he did... |
J.K. Rowling was one of the people who decided the teen shouldn't be sued? My...that was very sweet of her... |
well at least he learned the lesson |
Hey! He did something wrong, but everyone deserves an oportunity and I want to express my respect to J.K. Rowling and the French traductor for what they did. :) |
wow, haven't been on here in forever. i think he's a disgrace to harry potter fans & rowling shouldn't have let him off so easily but it was rather nice of her to do so. what a sweetheart(: |
Has the french version been released yet? If not then he is it really that horrbile? He could have just wanted to share the harry potter books with his people. Also, whats thedifference between reading a free version online and getting it at the library for free? |
I'm sorry but I think they should have sued the socks off him, for what he did. |
Even though he's not being sued, it was wrong. He shouldn't have posted an unauthorized version of DH, but I think he had good intentions...maybe he just wanted France's fans not to have to wait for the translation... He shouldn't have done it, and he should have known better... Maybe he should be sued. Jo is very generous though, by not sueing... |
Well the kid must be really relieved...but I think that he should have been sued! |
What a shame... |

Yeah...he should have been sued and I agree with mah Clone it is a shame. Lol! |
I think it's nice that he wasn't sued because he wasn't trying to make money. Imagine if you were french and had to wait until october? I wouldn't be able to wait that long. It's sweet of JK Rowling and the publisher to not sue. Maybe the French translators should give him a job?! |
well the kid must be good at languages though... translating the whole book... i would never be able to do that haha but yes, it was something wrong to do but i hope he has learned his lesson. |
Wonder what happened to him? |
I think that was really nice of her, and I'm glad he learned a lesson, but honestly I think he should still be in trouble... |
Nice of Jo not to sue, but i think she should of. If he wasn't out to make money why would he do it? I don't believe he wasn't out for money but thats just my opinion |
I think that's the right decision if he didn't make money off of it. Jo is so nice ^_^ |
Oh wow, that's really well forgiving. ;) |
Jo truly understands people. I really hope none of these rubbish business happens ever again. |
That was really wrong...*shakes head* but I guess he just got caught up in HP mania and translated it? |
i wouls have sued him. but i guess they decided to take the high road... |
