'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' - What Did You Think?! Discuss Here!
 

Well, it's finally here: The first installment in the Fantastic Beasts film series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is now in theaters for all to see!

Fans around the world, and avid moviegoers, have and will embark on the journey through J.K. Rowling's Wizarding world before the name Harry Potter was even conceived by Lily and James in 1980. With Fantastic Beasts, we meet a new group of unlikely 'outsiders' who befriend each other and become our troubled, emotive, conflicted, strong and resilient heroes: Newt Scamander, Tina Goldstein, Queenie Goldstein, and Jacob Kowalski.

In line with that, here's a little director's cut on one of the scenes shot in Fantastic Beasts, where Newt and Jacob meet in and escape from a New York City bank, narrated by David Yates.

This thread will be open for discussion, so go nuts and ask your questions (and there are SO MANY unanswered plot points in the movie) but put anything super-spoilery under a text cut please!

Speaking of plotholes and queries, the cast and crew did answer quite a bit regarding some of the scenes, characters, and story points of the first movie. We've kept that at bay until the actual movie was released, and from here on out, will be posting them (with spoiler notices of course, just in case).

&bull; Johnny Depp as Grindelwald? Yes, he's here to stay for the long haul.
&bull; The new 'dark force' introduced in the movies? Yep, got lots of details about that too, from our exclusive interview with producer David Heyman (up soon), Yates and Heyman's roundtable, and, of course, from a very reluctant Ezra Miller.
&bull; The THIRD familiar Harry Potter-tied surname mentioned in the movie? Yeah, we've got a bit more information about Zoe Kravitz's character as well, from Heyman, Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston during junkets we participated in.

We've only just begun with the newest chapter of J.K Rowling's Wizarding world, and, oh, what a fantastic ride it will be!

I don't even know where to start. I love the niffler so much. He was so cute.

Can we talk about how amaaaaaazing Colin Farrell was as Graves? I'M STILL FREAKING OUT ABOUT I lost my mind when he was revealed, man.

I'm happy that Credence will be coming back in the second movie. I thought he was a goner. :cry: That obscurial thing was scary. I also lost my mind when I realized it was :whaa:
