Exclusive: Confirmed two teenage Tom Riddles in Half-Blood Prince Contrary to recent rumors and according to a verified source on set, Michael Berendt, who we told you last week will be playing Tom Riddle at age 18 in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will not be replacing actor Frank Dillane, who was cast as Tom Riddle at age 16. So what will Berendt be doing in the film as 18-year old Tom Riddle? His role merely consists of a pair of hands stealing the Hufflepuff cup – that's it. The actor has no dialogue and no face time on screen. |
oh well, that actor can still say he was in an HP movie. first to post after the crash!!! |
Ummmmm...o.k. That's good I guess! |
That's good then. :) |
a pair of hands? why what was wrong with the hands of the fellow who plays the 16 year old? he doesnt have Frodo Fingers does he? |
That's good then, I guess. :) I'd do anything to get my hands in a Harry Potter film! |

ok =] |
Hmm.. why couldn't they use the 16 year olds hands? |
thats just wierd! why not use the 16 year olds hands? |
wow-interesting!!~ |
That's... weird. They could just bug every cast member to get the hands they wanted but okay XD |
hmm odd. couldnt the 16 years olds hands be used. they would be more youthful :P |

Yay SS is back. Two actors for two years age difference? ... welll whatever. |
That is one of the oddest things I've heard yet with regard to the movies. Why, oh why, don't they just use a cast/crew member's hands, or the 16-year-old's? |
Weird. |
wow! a great role I hope he can handel it is so much responsability on that role: a pair of hands!! wow!! now he is my fav actor....hahaha :D But talking seriously hands are hands, aren't they?? what was the problem with Frank's hands?? Weird!! :) |
thats a bit rubbish isnt it |
like on Zoolander... the hand model guy. pff. pfffff. Zoolander. |
Accio.Brain ... I'm with you. I'd be happy getting my hands in DH. |
Ummm okay... |

Erm, so what was wrong with using a 16 year old's hands instead? |
Right, what ever floats their boat I guesse |
That's a bit ... odd. I'm sure they could've just went and picked some random person to be "The Hands". I don't really see why they had to get another Tom Riddle just to do a scene that would probably take a few moments to get through. |
Wow.... I dont know if I would be irked or if I would think that was kool... :hmm: |
wow that kinda sux. At least he can say he was in a popular film ..... |
mmmmm okayyyyyyyyyy |
:hermy: it kinda is a slap in the face...cuz why cast an actor..if they're gonna use his hands only?silly..they can use some one's hands..and make do! |
ok......weird, seriously |
Lol I suppose it's better than nothing!!!! :xd: |
well at least his hands get to be in the film jaja :D |
wow at least he has a part in the film |
what's wrong with the other dudes hands? |
Er...how interestingly odd. |
ok..whats the point of that? i'm nut hands will change from the age of 16-18.. |
I don't understand why they have to drag some 18-year old in to show his hands for one second. They could've used anyone elses hands - someone already in the film for example! Ah well.. (: |
Whatever happened to Christian Coulson? |
Thats.. Strange ? x) |

come to think of it, he could play the 18 year old Tom Riddle, since all they needed were a pair of hands ;) |
well,thats kinda weird.why not use the 16 year olds hands?or crew's hands? |
They better be good looking hands!! Hmm I wonder how much you get paid to have your hands in a HP film.. |
curiuos but still better to be in a HP film than not. still can't understand why Michael's getting a credit for his hand-y work! LOL! |
That's good! I honestly didn't think that actor would be good as the 18-year old Tom Riddle. If I were him and he knew they'd only be using his hands in the movie, I wouldn't have accepted the role. He probably only accepted for the money. |
