Emma Watson talks new haircut & its liberating experience with Entertainment Weekly
 

One of the photo shoots and features Emma Watson took part in to promote Deathly Hallows this week in New York was for Entertainment Weekly's Fall Movie Preview special, where she will be the cover model. Emma talked about getting her now-famous haircut earlier this week, how liberating it felt, and the fact that due to Harry Potter filming the past ten years, she was unable to fulfill that teenage prerogative. UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly released another new photo of Emma with her haircut, as well as Emma's thought process into getting the cut, which she admitted she waited on after completing the Harry Potter films.

The Fall Movie Preview issue will be out later this month; if anyone can get scans, feel free to send them in. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which she is promoting in the feature, will be out November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.

she has a delicate face w/ lovely features...she can pull this hair off, no problem...i imagine it does feel great to not have so much long hair to style.

Emma is amazing. I will learn to love her haircut.

The good thing is that she is done with the series....so it's not like she'll have to wear a wig or anything for the next one..which is good.

I'm really impressed with Emma right now. She pulls off the short hair look very very well. And, is it just me or does she look a lot like Sinead O'Connor in this photo? (Sinead O'Connor sang that song Nothing Compares 2 U).

I understand why Emma did it, but I still don't like it all that much. Hope she grows it back sooner than later.

While I prefer her longer hairstyle, Emma looks just as great with this short hairstyle. She pulls it off really well. :yes:

I'm not a huge fan. She can pull it off, but I liked her long hair better. She's still really pretty, though! There's another good picture at the website The Hollywood Gossip. I saw it on Facebook.

Not all females can work the short, pixie cuts like that, but it looks FABULOUS on her! She's got the right facial shape, the right features. It's so very pixie/elfish on her and just DARLING I really love it. I REALLY do!

I like it a lot but i think emma suites longer hair, in my opinion. :)

Shaves her head to look like a boy. It's a sign she's going to concentrate on her modeling. Besides, if she hated it, she could hardly say anything LOL its not like they can glue the locks back on. She should have done something different less radical, colored it or I don't know, short but not drastic. Still, she's got a pretty face, I just really don't like her hair.

I love it! My face is too round for me to do that, but if I had better bone structure I'd go for it! ^_^

She looks so different, but so her at the same time. She also reminds me of Twiggy Lawson with that hairstyle. Still, I liked her long hair better, but short is pretty too.

Wow, she can pull off the Pixie haircut well. It's not my favorite hairstyle personally, it's boyish looking but her feminine features stand out more thankfully. It actually brings out the beauty in her face.

Yeah, even hours after finding out about the hair cut, it's still bothering me but that was because I was jealous of her long hair in the first place. :lol: But she's beautiful no matter what, always has been and always will be; I just hope she doesn't keep it for too long. I can definitely understand the idea of "experimenting," and since she didn't have the freedom to do so, it's totally understandable but I hope she doesn't experiment for too long with this style. The longer locks suited her better but anyways, it's her hair and her life so she can do what she wants with it. :)

But I still like her longer hair.

It will take a while for me to get used to her haircut...but at least she's happy about it. :)

Emma looked gorgeous with long hair and looks gorgeous now as well. The short haircut makes her cheekbones much more prominent. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. :)

Fortunately for those who don't like the hairstyle, it's only hair. She didn't change as a person, only in appearance. I think she pulls it off well. I wouldn't have done it, but that's why I'm not her! :P

Now I totally understand why she cut her hair. I think every teen wants to do something liberating but she couldn't cut her hair at that time so she did it now. At first I didn't like it but now it actually looks much better :)

I notice she is dressing differently too. The haircut is changing her. :P

Yeah, like a month ago because of the music video and the festival she was all rocker chic- now she is laid back and has a relaxed teenager look to her.. She looks like she dyed her hair red also... :) The red shirt looks nicer on her

She's a beautiful girl, and I understand that it is her hair. She will always look gorgeous. And while it's not horrendous, I prefer her with longer hair.

it's a bit too short but i still love emma..im impressed with the way she's dealing with it..eventhough her hair is short,she still looks gorgeous.. :)

I can see where she's coming from. It's very 60s. That's the thing though, it was nice in the 60s! Not so sure about now....I hated it when I first saw it, I like it a little more now that I've seen it a few times. I still say I prefer her with long hair though.

When I first saw the pic, I was like 'WOAH!' but what difference does it make really? I dont dig the short haircut as well, but we'll learn to love it... ^^,

After first seeing this I was shocked. I missed her long "Hermione" hair. But I think Im starting to get used to it and actually liking it a lot more!

I'm not keen, but I'm sure I can learn to love it :) it looks a lot better styled too like the top picture!!

She looks amazing. She is a very pretty girl. All the hair cuts fit her perfect. It's really irritated to have the same hair style for 10 years.
