I think she said the politically correct thing and left it at that because it changed nothing. Obviously Rowling thinks a little differently than Emma (as in by interview, emma came out more on Ron/Hermione's side than rowling did) but Emma doesn't want to say anything against Rowling, who she admires.
and it doesn't change anything because ron/hermione still stands, and rowling shot down harry/hermione by sticking, as always, in defense of ginny with the "harry loves ginny" comment.
Also, that's Not Rowling's quote. That's Emma voicing what some fans think (and she doesn't)
Rowling's quote was about "them needing therapy" and "I wrote them for no literary merit, but a personal one"
so I think emma's answer was brief and did not elaborated on it, because since what rowling said didn't changed the canon pairings/Endgame , we should all move on from it.
and she is right, the media twisted a LOT of the quotes. Rowling wasn't going to come out and break up harry/ginny because that's her favorite of the canon pairings.
so yeah, I hope we can move on now (Fantastic Beasts anyone?)
