Emma Watson comments on bullying, Brown University & Perks of Being a Wallflower
 

Emma Watson updated her official website today to dispel a few rumours going around in regards to her stay at Brown University, what she may do her third year - her reps have already confirmed she will be transferring out of Brown this fall - and getting ready to film The Perks of Being a Wallflower next month in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I did hear about that rumor in The Daily Mail, I'd hoped it was false. I loathe bullies. I'm glad she set everyone straight!

It's a shame that some tabloid nonsense made Emma feel she had to do this. I don't know why people read those rags. I feel sorry for her.

I'm glad that was just a rumor. Bullying sucks on any level regardless of who you are and how you are being bullied. I don't think that media aren't going to apologize to her especially the tabloids because that's what they do

Its just good that she came right out and defended herself and her fellow students and her University

It's certainly not the first time that the press has said untrue things about Emma.. I'm glad that she always sets the press straight!

Hey guys, we live in a world of disinformation. That's why stupid rumors exists. It's sensasionalism, and it's lame. I study communications, and most of the time, even the great newspaper have it wrong. What a shame. I'm glad Emma send a message, it makes it clear now, even if we did knew it was false.

Isn't the fake topless picture of her circulated by some Brown students a form of bullying? Anyway, I'm glad to know the real reason for her leaving. Good for you, Emma!

Set the record straight
 

I am glad that she is setting the record straight. Plus, if it did or didn't happen,... it doesn't matter because she is just trying to live life! Let her try to be as normal as she can be... because of everything she is doing, that is not necessarily possible.

I think Brown said she should make a Statement,that they won't loose a good Image

I didn't know there was speculation of her being bullied.
I just though she was leaving Brown due to work and wanting to change her major.

I'm glad that she had made a statement about it, I don't usually listen to rumors but I came across this one and I was very upset. Good luck Emma in whatever you chose !

It's nice to hear rumors being cleared up straight from the source. Oh and this guy that used to be in my school's drama club got a callback to be in Perks of Being a Wallflower! Maybe he can get me Emma's autograph lol :D

I knew it wasn't true because I saw the big rumor about Rupert drinking out of well dont want to say it lol, I pretty sure you know what I mean (start with the P) and the picture looks nothing like him it look like Ron from the HBP when he drink and then crash down on the floor. People dont have better things to do in their lives that why they make rumors. I only believe it when I hear it from the person when there are rumors about them.

Could not agree more-smart and classy all the way!! Emma didnt have to come out w. a statement, she easily could have left it like that. But God bless her as always being the stand up girl that she is to defend others being smeared, like Brown University. This is what the American movie industry needs more of here- people like Emma! Here's to all of her upcoming projects!!! Cant wait for them all :) As for the rumor about Rupert-unreal is all I can say about the media-must have been a slow day and Charlie Sheen was doing his same garbage over so they decided to pick on Rupert. The media has much to be desired, seriously.

The stupid media should leave her alone. Thankfully, she has the courage to clear this up for herself.

I'm glad that she quells rumors rather than lets people speculate just to create a buzz. Whatever she does with school, whether going abroad or transferring or whatever, I'm sure she'll do an excellent job and have success in her studies. As for The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I'm very excited that she's starring in the film, as I really enjoyed the book.

Well, I had already assumed this to be false because Emma never gave any indication before that people harassed her. She always said she loved Brown. Even if she was ever bullied there, Emma doesn't seem like the type of person to simply leave and give up her dream of going to college just like that. The media just likes to turn simple things into dramatic stories but I'm glad Emma put that to rest.

wow, i'm glad that she's addressing these ugly rumors. it's nice that she keeps her fans updated and correctly informed about this stuff.

i'm looking forward to the perks of being a wallflower. i think i'll have to read it again (though i seemed to have lost my copy) before it comes out. i'm hoping it has an awesome soundtrack; music is so central to the book! i never really pictured it on the big screen, though...

I feel really sorry that she's having to go through this! People are so pathetic with all the rumors that make up! Find a new hobby, stop destroying peoples lives!

Kids at my school were saying it was because of bullying. I'm very glad to hear that that is not true at all, and I'm glad she keeps us updated :)
