Having grossed $159.7 million, the sixth Potter movie is second only to the latest Transformers flick, in terms of early takings. A total of $79.5 million was made for the three-day weekend. UPDATE: Reuters is reporting that on an international scale, Half-Blood Prince has made a total of $396.7 million in the first five days of release, breaking Spider-Man 3's record from two years ago. UPDATE #2: The sixth movie has reportedly broken records in Hong Kong and New Zealand, with a massive weekend opening of $2.96 million and $2.4 million, respectively. |

yeah HBP! I wanted it to beat transformers, because transformers was sort of bad... terrible compared to HBP... I mean, how can you expect me to empathize with a big piece of metal? I thought the special effects were sort of cool though... (HBP was still way better)

That's awesome!
HBP was so much better than Transformers (it was getting far too long (not that HBP was much shorter or anything...)).
I wished they kept in the Snape/Harry scene at least. Missing DUmbledore's funeral was bad enough, but they completely started to butcher the movie towards the end.
Maybe there's hope for the deleated scenes...?
Still, the best film to date!!
