Umm, definitely not too sure about this. One book being split into two separate films? And films which be released with almost 6 months between them? :erm: |

So a 16 month shooting schedule, that'll be tough. I resent having to pay twice to see one story. And waiting will be difficult. I agree also that it'll be hard to know where to cut between the two. Not the best of decisions, in my book, but it does have its benefits ;) |
:gryff: :hermy2: brilliant...was praying soo!!wisher got granted...though was sad cuaron was named director..he did poa brilliantly..v good..one of the best HP directors..his style's much better than Yates actually. |
I'm happy. I'm tired of them leaving out parts from the book. siriusly. (lol) I want to see people casting spells around invisible tents, snapes patronus, the malfoy mansion, Ravenclaw Tower.... I mean i want it all. |
I like this idea ;P Can't wait! |
OH YEAH! I'm glad DH is going to be a two-parter, but I'm not sure about David Yates directing it. I mean, he did a good job with OOTP, but DH is a much bigger challenge...well, we'll wait and see! :) |

Really, I was mostly afraid the second part would come 2 years later, or something. And I wish it would just be one 5 hour long part instead, I could deal with that. But I guess it's better than cutting out half the movie. |
I'm in school right now where me and my friend have been discussing this all day. She doesn't want Yates to direct either. We can't wait untill November - May. That's just too long! D: Poor JK. There's supposed to be seven books. No more, no less. So, there should be seven films too. That's kinda the point..or not. xD |
Must be in two parts... They simply dont make very very long movies for the theatres anymore. So it would have either been two parts (kind of like Lord of the Rings) or one decent length movie w/ loads of stuff cut out. And then that would really not do any justice the the final book of the series. So really, it is for the best. They are trying to get loads of storyline and many many actors in that would otherwise have been cut out. Plus, let's face it, it extends the waiting for the end a bit longer and i am certainly okay w/ delaying the inevitable end when there are no movies left to wait for....:luna: |
That's great,i just hope they dont cut out anything.I hope the movies arent spaced out too much! |
OMAGEE!! When i saw the title of this i was like REALLY?!? I'm so glad!!! It's the only way It'll work *nodnodnodnod* |
Well...I'm only ok with it because this hopefully means all the parts of the book will be in the movie(s). But I will not survived 6 mos in between! *faints* |
Yay two films so they don't miss anything... && Aaaahh!!!! 6 months thats outrageous! |
I think this is awesome!! i was wondering how they would pack in everything from DH but this semms the best way! I hope these 2 movies will do more justice than any of the the singles previously. The story must end with ALL of the stories touched on at the ver least!! Besides this gives us something to look forward to for the next 3 years!! It also sounds like they will shoot both movies at the same time which means it won't look obvious that time has lapsed between them! I would have hated them to take a hiatus because then how do you explain that it has only been a day when everyone looks a year or two older!! |

I am VERY glad to hear this will be two films but not so happy about Yates directing. I may be alone but OotP was my least favorite film (way too short, too much cut - though this may be the screenwriters fault...) but I will withhold judgment about Yates until I see Half-Blood Prince. At least DH will not be cutting much from the book! Yay! :) Six months is really not too long to wait imo. It couldn't really be done different as they have to wait for the first part to lose its legs in cinemas. |

But what about breaks? Just slap one (or even two) in, problem solved. That's what the cinemas over here do when films are really long, like Lord of the Rings etc. (Actually, concerning LotR, there even were events where they showed like all three of them in a row. That lasted about nine hours lol.) |
Thats good. I wasnt too sure that it would be as good like this but now I think about it, there doing it to fit everything in and thats what matters really! I cant wait. I really want to find out when auditions are. |
The two part bit I don't mind, I got thru Lord of the Rings just fine. But the time lapse is ridiculous, and Yates directing is a tragedy of Biblical proportions. And oh yeah, Emma, I give full credit to Goldenberg for his part in the suckage that was OOTP. But I don't exonerate Kloves, he did mangle POA, anyway. Just PLEASE TELL ME JOHN WILLIAMS WILL BE BACK TO DO THE SCORE! OOTP was the worst score of the franchise so far. After I AK myself, feel free to take my wand, anyone who wants to follow my lead. Two parts or not, I still have a feeling this is going to be just as bad as Attack of the Clones. One great big loud stinky MEH to Warner Brothers, Yates, and everyone else associated with the downfall of the Potter series that began with POA. You've all done a fantastic job of turning wonderful, imaginative books into the cinematic equivalent of Ipecac syrup. <_< |
i am so excited about them doing the two films i think it is a great idea. I think the smartest place to cut it off is right after doby's funeral. This is really a turning point in the story. Before they get to shell cottage harry is questioning whether or not he should continue on this path dumbledore left for him. He finally accepts his mission. Also ron, harry and hermoine are finally all back on the same page, which are how the films are suppose to end. This part in the story is also about half way through the book and there is a large planning period for their break in at gringotts so it is a good time to break. I think if they break it any where else it would be a mistake. |

Oh my gosh I am so excited! I just can't wait! |
I'm glad it will be given the time it needs to tell the story in the way that it needs to be told. As much as the story has evolved, it essentially started out as a children's story so there will be younger views who just can't sit through a screening to the extent we would like. I am so happy that they came to this decision rather than cram it all in one showing. I'm sure that the last installment will be fantastic, because they won't be able to stray too far from what Jo wrote. Everything is important to the story and I can't see how it can be re-written. I can see them splitting the films at the end of the godric's hollow scene - leaving the first part on a cliff hanger. Can't wait!!! |
I knew it was coming, but yet I deny it. I did know that if it was split in 2 that the first part would come out, and then 6 months later the 2nd part would be out. I mean they said that when GOF was suppose to be split in 2. Idk about u guys, but I soooooo, don't wanna WAIT 6 MONTHS TO SEE THE ENDING. I hope it comes out in the beginning of May instead of the end, because 1. I don't wanna wait the whole month 2 see it, and 2. if it comes out anytime on or after the 25th I will be 24. Dear lord I might be engaged by then. U know when your upset, because all u do is make noises, and no words come out. Seeing as this movie is gonna be Split they BETTER HAVE EVERY AND I MEAN EVERY DETAIL OF WHAT HAPPENS IN THE BOOK, AND THEY BETTER NOT CUT ANYTHING OUT. I mean if they do then WTF is the use of having 2 parts? I'm just soooo upset, and very ticked off. Well at least David Yates will direct the 2 movies...the only good thing I say |
