David Yates drops out of Emma Watson collaborative film 'Your Voice in My Head' Deadline is reporting that due to personal family health-related issues, director David Yates dropped out of his upcoming project, a possible fifth collaboration with Harry Potter star Emma Watson in the screen adaptation of Emma Forrest's Your Voice in My Head. The film was set to begin shooting this summer with Emma portraying journalist and author Forrest, whose memoir chronicled her near-suicide and mentorship with a former psychiatrist. At the moment Emma Watson is still confirmed to portray Forrest, though no word has been released on who will replace Yates. Quote:

Why would he ever do such a thing? Once again, he ruined books 5 and 6 and now he's left Emma. :( |
I dont think you read the reason...family health issues...and he wanted to postpone, yet once again money talks and needs to be done now. Heaven forbid it is put on hold until Yates can come back. He clearly wanted to do it and requested an extension but the film said no. Too bad too because Yates and Emma together are an amazing team. I hope Emma will want to still do it since this would be her first lead role. |

Now just drop out of Doctor Who so you can't ruin that one, and we're golden! |

Unfortunate but most films dont like to lose money or the time they have the right people for a production. If certain people have expiration dates for work, then it is the producers who have to make the decisions. They probably thought that they would wait for him and then the plans changed. He is still on my crap list. |
drats... i was really hoping for this director-actor tandem with a story like this :( maybe its a money thing, maybe its an ego thing |
Well he obviously wants to direct it as he requested for it to be put on hold... I hope the 'family health-related issues' are non too sirius and they get better. |
All this Yates hating...?.... I liked OOTP, A Lot! even if many didn't. DH1&2 were very good, even Oscar worthy. HBP wasn't my fave but it didn't suck. So the man puts family and health ahead of work good for him! |
