David Yates confirms two nude Harry scenes in Deathly Hallows While it was announced earlier this week that Daniel Radcliffe would be appearing nude in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, more information about the scene has been released. Director David Yates, from the set, informed La Vibra that Dan doesn't get nude just once, but twice in the last installments, mirroring Harry's state of undress in the book. Quote:

GASP! TWOOO nedudy patoody scenes??? |
Dancing?! Well I'm curious to know about that but when is it exactly in the film after Ron leaves and why would they be dancing? Don't really have a problem with it I suppose as long as it's only friendly and nothing towards them getting together. Well at least he's going to appear nude where he's suppose to be in King's Cross and I suppose for those that haven't read the books, it will be easier to understand Ron's jealousy with the nude scene added in...eh. Will Emma be nude too then? I'm excited about the film but I wish the whole being nude wasn't brought out in a dirty way in that scene where they fight the Horcrux, it was all about the depth of emotions there; Ron had been gone for weeks, having no idea what could have transpired between his friends and his jealously always being there of course, but I don't understand why nudity is taken in that form by Yates. Nudity shoudn't be used to show sexuality etc. in HP because it doesn't always mean that. The real nude scene in the book where he dies wasn't a big deal because it made sense for him to be naked...nobody thought, ok so he's naked like OMG! It was like whatever for them because it wasn't dirty or nasty. Wish Yates would have been a little more thoughtful |
Uhm...I wonder what this is going to be rated  Definitely not 'PG' like HBP I'm guessing. It's kinda weird but I'm excited to see how the do this though! :D I don't really think it's that big of a deal :P And the dancing would be a bit weird but I think it would be sweet :) |
I'm pretty glad he explained it so well. Sounds good. |
I think I will skip these movies now. Harry is supposed to be in love with Ginny yet, stupid H/Hr shippers Yates and Kloves have him in a nude scene with Hermione and dancing with Hermione after Ron leaves. I HATE this! When Ron leaves they are suppossed to hardly talk to each other, yet here is this dancing scene! I am mad and will boycott both DH movies! |
Whoa whoa whoa. Okay. I am sorry, but I am not really liking the sound of Harry and Hermione dancing. Why is this needed? I don't want another pointless scene like in HBP where the Death Eaters burn down the Burrow. (Don't get me wrong, that scene was okay, but really? It was a waste of time and they could have used that time to explain more about the Horcruxes) I am a big R/Hr shipper and Harry and Hermione dancing = no. But that doesn't matter anyway, everyone knows Ron and Hermione like each other. I just have no clue why they'd do a scene like this. Are they going to be randomly dancing in the tent? *confused and a little annoyed at the thought of another new scene* |
awww.im a h/hr shipper and that'd be nice :D and yay at dan naked!! |
I'm getting the feeling I'm going to hate these movies :( |
Personally I don't really mind the dancing scene. For all we know it could actually be a very good scene. I also like the fact that he explained the nude scenes better. I was confused at first. |
I don't know what to think about this, but I'm glad that they're taking the 'Kings Cross' chapter serious, Dan is supposed to be naked there, and so he will. However, Dancing in the middle of a war and right after their best friend leaves will be weird, but on the other hand a moment of fun, joy and it's also a moment of 'we need other things on our minds than only the war and fear of death' as well and i'm very interesting about those 'secrets' between Harry and Hermione...... Yates said the dancing is a new added scene wich is not in the book. Well, personally I think that is not a good idea, because in my opinion the extra scene in HBP (the fight around the Burrow) was utter useless. Why? because everyone knows the current circumstances in the Wizarding World. But on the other hand, a new film, a new story but also the same, and new chances to learn from mistakes from the past....... |
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh .... do they really need to have a nude scene to let people know how Ron will be feeling? gosh...I knew there was a reason I didn't like Yates. Kids do not need to see that sort of stuff, and it's really not necessary. It just makes it look tacky and prove that the director wasn't creative enough to implicate that there's something going on between Ron and Hermione. I wonder what Rowling thinks about this. I'd be right mad. edit: Okay, read the interview... Sensual isn't really sexy though...so *phew* |
Wow, I really liked this; "It's very difficult to find a favorite scene, but something we just did as part of the movie truly is priceless. It's a scene where Hermione and Harry dance together and is not in the book - it's something we created for the film and is actually very tender, very nice and respectful, and they also reveal some secrets about each other while dancing," said Yates." I think it would be a really... personal experience between the two, and I think it will be able to show the close - but not romantic - relationship between Harry and Hermione. It really is something two siblings might do; dance for fun and reveale secrets to each other. I'm really excited because the secrets will be able to let us get into the minds of the characters more in the films, because we can't read how they're feeling or what they're thinking. It's up to us to interpert their acting, but if they reveal some secrets, it'll make it easier for us and give us a look into their minds. And who know what the secrets will be. Personally, I'm hoping for some Harry/Ginny secret from Harry and some Ron/Hermione secret from Hermione. Maybe Harry will make her dance to cheer her up if the scene is after Ron leaves. (which I'm assuming it is) It would be a good thing for them to do, to release some of their stress and anxiety and heartache. I think it's actually a really good idea. I think that, seeing as they have two almost three hour slots to fill, adding a small scene with the two dancing is not that bad. And really, we all know what exactly is going to happen because most who will go to see the films will have read the boks. With a new scene here or there that was added that was not in the book, it'll add a little excitment and energy and give you a feeling that you're not seeing something that you've read about before. It'll be something entirely new for you to see, which personally is very exciting for me. :) Personally, I liked the Burning Burrow scene a lot in HBP, and I think people really need to let go of their annoyance at the books not following the exact order and sequence and such as the books. Be glad that the book is being split into two films and not that much will be cut out. Don't whine that they're adding a possibly only three to five minute scene. Anyways, seeing Dan nude twice will be very interesting. I doubt very much that we'll see anything R or 18+ rated, since they'll lose at lot of their audience, but they'll probably show his striping down and above the waist and below the thigh shots. I think what Yates was trying to say about the sexy kiss or whatever is that Harry will be naked because he just jumped into the lake to get the sword. I think the kiss is supposed to be sexy, with the Horcrux Harry and Hermione. Why would Harry be naked for the kiss? If you remember in the book, Harry strips down to his boxers to go get the sword, and then Ron sees an intense kiss between Horcrux Harry and Hermione. Maybe Dan will be naked to get the sword, not in the kiss. Try to think of all the possibilities. By the way, I am a supporter of Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione and hate Harry/Hermione. I don't think they're oing to be showing support for Harry/Hermione. Period. |
At the moment I am very upset about this little "dancing" scene! After Ron leaves, Hermione is utterly heart broken! I feel that the scene is saying something like "Well now that Ron's gone, we're much better off so lets dance together and forget all about him!" I really hope if they are going to keep this in the movie that it's not right after Ron leaves and that it's not implying that Harry and Hermione might get together when in the book, they barely even talk! (after Ron leaves that is) |
This is making me a little more mad everytime I read this over. I like Yates, but I don't love him. And this is the reason why I don't love him! Why? Why add a scene like this? But hey, maybe I'll like it... And as for the nude scene, I just don't see the point. Yes, it'll be "sexy" as Yates said ... but that's what makes me angry. He just does things that don't really make sense or they don't even go with the plot. And Harry doesn't even need to be naked for that. Ron would still be extremely angry if Harry kissed Hermione fully clothed. |
OMG! I am so excited for the dancing scene :D I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god their doing the kissing scene, now this !!! WOOHOO this movie sounds more and more better each day !!!!! |
Most likely they would dance at the wedding if they are going to dance not just in the tent. Can we get an actual translation of the article? |
OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe how infuriating this is!!!!! A dancing scene?? Harry and Hermione??? I mean come on people....Harry is in love with Ginny and Hermione is in love with Ron...why destroy the perfectly amazing storyline JKR wrote? HELLO we like it the way she wrote it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh God if the last movies are as inacurate as the rest I swear I'm gonna hunt Yates down for real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay....I must calm down now.... About the two nude scenes....well I guess we all really know the point but I guess I'm gonna be the one to say it...after Twilight and New Moon and all the sexy vampire stuff they have to come up with something to compete...... Well, personally I don't mind about that...actually I'm kinda excited about that :drool::drool::drool::drool: Just don't ruin my H/G ship PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least I hope the H/G kiss will be better than that hidious peck on the lips we got in HBP!!!!!!! |
Glad to hear that they will be doing the kings cross station like in the book, as far as we can tell anyways...not really a fan of harry being nude in the other scene, but i dont think its going to make a huge difference im a little confused about the dancing, im trying to figure out how this works out if they do it after ron leaves.. are they hugging and they just start swaying together on the spot? id like to stay i trust him - but i dont lol... interested to see how this will unfold.. i wonder if J.K Rowling approves, why cant they just keep it as close to the books as possible LE SIGH |
If it's not for the wedding I fail to see where a dancing scene would fit in the context of the story. *Thinks, thinks* >>>>>>>>>> Nah I got nothing! <_< Glad he explained the nuddy scenes a bit better.Although I still don't understand WHY he needs to be nude for the horcrux scene.....But hey ho. *shrugs* We'll wait and see. |
I don't exactly have a problem in the dancing scene. If they push it toward romance then yeah I will. But for all we know Harry could somehow be tryng to give some sort of comfort and Hermione admits she's in love with Ron and him Ginny or maybe they liked each other when they were younger but grew past it. It could be good. Not sure about the nude thing. Hopefully this film will be pushed to Pg-13 again. |
GUYS !!! Settle down, we all know who gets with who in the end. Just because Harry and Hermione are dancing together, does not mean anything. It just implies how strong their friendship is !!! I think it's an excellent idea :D I am not a fan of R/HR, and since I can't have H/HR together I think this is a great way to express their relationship :) |

As for the nude scenes...the King's cross one I definitely don't have a problem with it since he is actually nude in that part of the book. The horcrux one...eh I don't know yet. Can't wait for the H/G kiss by the way!! |
oH MY GOSHHHHH |
Why the Horcrux became a magical creature? |
